Its wonderful, the music is full of vim and vigor. This B*S* that Oasis are some retro retreads, I dont buy it. We all as artists pay homage to those who influenced us, but to make it seem in so many reviews that all Oasis do is rehash the beatles raises my ire, as those reviewers obviously are unable to see what original ideas oasis themselves posses or bring to the table. From the artwork, to every second of every tune, its a wonderful emotional tableaux. To me the most entertaining album from Oasis, it has some real heavy rockers, that must be really punishing live. Oasis are the real deal, and this album is worth every penny!

Oasis' 7th album shows the lads starting to return to Morning glory days. It is loud, exciting and thoughtful. They have gotten away from the past albums and moved back to what made them famous, great rock music. It takes a few listens to appreciate the music but worth the money!
Release Date October 03, 1995
Noisy britpop from the 90s, an alternative to US Grunge from the same era, ill-bred children and, of course, a very british Beatlesque touch contribute to build up a good modern rock album supposedly meant to last and remain as one of the classics forever along with releases from Rolling Stones, Beatles or Led Zeppelin. Actually it includes the so-called 'best rock and roll song of all times' (based on a local radio survey), "Wonderwall", which just makes it worth listening.
Trivia: even Coca Cola did not wanted to detach from the album's success by suing the band for plagiarism, claiming that one of the songs was very similar to a famous 80's jingle they had... which was it?
A bit overexposed it still represents the best ... Read More:

Truth be told, Oasis haven't sounded as raw and aggressive as they do on The Shock of the Lightning since Champagne Supernova!
The song comes charging at you like a stampede of bulls running through the wilderness. It's that fast, that furious, and that pulsating. The signature Oasis sound of old that includes layers upon layers of guitars, and Liam sneering lines like "Love is a time machiiiiiiiiine, up on the silver screeeeeeen," creating an enormous wall of sound, is back with a vengeance. With a repeated mantra-like bridge "come in, come out, toniiiiight!", The Shock of the Lightning is gauranteed to please all Oasis fans, and even draw new fans to one of the most controversial bands of our time. And you thought Oasis were washed up! Think again! ... Read More:

Does the band have any input in this. My first complaint is each disc only has nine tracks. Why not fill it up? Stop Crying My Heart Out should be on there as well as Do You Know What I Mean? There was at least seven other tracks they could have included. Why release two discs with nine tracks only on them? It makes no sense.
Release Date November 03, 1998
This collection shows why Oasis is the greatest group of the 90's. All of these songs were b-sides, yet they sound better than most band's singles. Some of their strongest material is on here: Acquiesce, Talk Tonight, Going Nowhere, Rockin' Chair, and The Masterplan.
Release Date August 26, 1997
I will never understand why oasis get's bashed by critics. Do they sound like the Beatles? Yes. Do they have over inflated egos? Yes. Are they one of the all time great bands? Yes. BE HERE NOW is nothing short of a masterpiece. Do not listen to critics, or to Noel(his ego will not let him say he likes this album.) Every song is great and will be remembered by us fans forever.

Some bands can reach a status where their next record has almost an aura that surrounds it as if it's an "event"; one of the biggest bands ever has new material that is about to hit stores. Even if the albums don't light the world on fire or they are just simply underrated gems that didn't sell well, their next one still is on many's anticipated list. Oasis for al their faults and criticisms are a similar band and after the misfire/underrated "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" which had some listenable songs next to just simply decent, "Heathen Chemistry", their 5th not counting their b-sides collection "The Masterplan", the band shows some topform songwriting which hurts when its against some poor numbers as well.

Ever since their second album, the blockbuster "(What's the Story) Morning Glory", Oasis have been fairly hit-or-miss when it came to the songs. Their third: too bloated and too long. Their fourth: too cerebral and not enough hooks. And their previous record felt like it was trying to replicate their previous success but they only remembered half of what it was. However the maturity seemed to get a little improved with each record and songs were created that were not just simply radio-geared but focused a bit more on their songwriting, as borrowed and/or cliched as it is. "Don't Believe the Truth" was marked as a return-to-form and while they've gotten better in key areas, there's some things that they still haven't been able to replicate: that of a killer pop tune hook.
