This album is creative and daring, but a bit ersatz. The songs rely on cheep computer sampling and repetitive lyrics giving the music a dirty drunken quality which significantly reduced my enjoyment. It's okay. You'll like it. But if you have a more refined taste in music you'll find this album gathering dust in your collection.

Since "Crime for All Seasons" on, the TKK albums (I'm not including the atrocious GB and M) have all been great except for one thing--not enough samples! What drew me to the TKK in the first place was their ingenious way of interweaving samples with the music. Resurrection of Luna and Crime for All Seasons saddened me, in that they seemed to dawn TKK's movement away from samples. Here, Samples are back and with a vengeance! Very artistic album--the TKK we all know and love!

This is worthy of inclusion if you collect this band. I own it and don't regret it's purchase. One of the most intersting units in the last 20 years regrettfully neglected by most critics, and AMERICAN. When I heard they were dropped by Interscope after perhaps their most unique offerring(H&R Holiday) I was shocked but not surprised, I guess the label was making room for U2's salary. Shameful. Once you get past their 'persona' you come upon an innovative American band (say that again three times). The close minded may be put off by their lyrics or subject matter but they aren't the kind of people who appreciate real rock and roll, are they? The mesh between R&R and dance was never so celebrated or so much fun. This band will turn it around and eventually ... Read More:

It is a classic, and sex on wheelz is no expection. It's definatly a huge attempt at instrument mastery and experimentation. Great vocals and lyrics-campy, yet fun. It's just fun to listen to, and non serious. It makes you smirk like a little teenage boy.

How do you choose tracks for a 'best-of' compilation for a band that never had more than a handful of proper singles? So many of TKK's album tracks sound like singles anyway, it's hard to pick which ones should go on a compilation--so many of them are that good. Not to mention that the band has such a dual personality (B-movie Satanism and electro-disco).
Since this is a single-disc set, a lot is left off of it. Strangely, some of the actual singles are missing here, most noticeably "Blue Buddha". There's also no "Sexplosion!" either. But there are interesting choices, like the lead-off track "13 Above the Night". There are three tracks from "Reincarnation of Luna", but only one from "Crime For All Seasons"--surely they could have put on "Blue ... Read More:

This is obviously the album that a lot of people feel defines MLWTTKK, even though they haven't done much since that's been in the same vein. There's no question about it, this is a great record. Dark, menacing, yet not in the same way that bands like Ministry were. I wouldn't call this "techno" or even "industrial". True, that's the closest way to describe it, but there really is no word for what it is.
It always amuses me that the general opinion is that these songs have something to do with Satan. I don't think there's a single reference to Loosey-fur except for the title of "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan" (which was taken from an unrelated mystery novel). There's nothing about devil worship here, just a certain blasphemous tone (check "Kooler Than ... Read More:

After wearing out my copy of Reincarnation Of Luna I wanted to get another, and in looking here I noticed Resurrection Of Luna. The description says it is a re-release with bonus tracks. IT IS NOT A RE-RELEASE but in fact a whole new recording. I say this not to argue which versions are best, but to make sure the buyer is informed. I don't regret owning it as I am a die hard TKK fan, but after writing this i'm off to order a copy of the original Reincarnation Of Luna. This is interesting but not what I expected.
Release Date September 07, 1993
Though I like their earlier stuff more, this is a solid release from them, and "13 Above The Night" is liked the most by some. Roughly fitting into the techno-industrial genre, this album is full of distorted vocals, driving beats, horns, sex and drug lyrics, and anything else you can imagine. Plus you can dance to it. Overall more like "Lords Of Acid", than say a "Skinny Puppy" kind of sound. Each of their albums are different, but this one pleases like any of the others. It's perfect for a "Disko Fleshpot" who's ready to live the "Badlife".

This is good stuff, but I'm a little confused by the decision to put this out with the name "My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult" on it (was it Ryko's decision?). The mythos behind this album is that it wasn't supposed to be released as a Thrill Kill Kult album. The name of the band was going to be "Gay Black & Married", with the album being titled "Euro-Freak". That would have been a lot cooler than issuing it as a TKK album, which would make this the most officially "disco" thing they ever did. More instrumental than most TKK releases, the tracks here without vox sort of run together, but when Groovie Mann is featured, it's a lot of fun. His sleazy vocals fit the euro-disco mold quite nicely.
