as a fan im happy to have purchased this item. the DVD is great. if you are a fan of muse this is something worth not missing.
Release Date July 11, 2006
I like this CD. It has a lot of Queen influence in the vocal and music department. It also has a very Art Rock approach in the music. The musicianship is amazing and always interesting. This Cd was recommended in a Prog Magazine as an album of rock with prog embellishments. I would have to agree. I'm not sure I hear the Rush influence as others have mentioned. I hear more Queen and U2. I think they should move away from the U2 and stick with the Queen influence. Whatever the case is, the CD is very enjoyable like a real good Adrian Belew CD.

Each track on "Absolution" is powerful and beautiful and flows together to create a unique and emotional punch in the gut album. The songs pulse, build, swell, and explode...leaving you satisfied and pressing replay. The lyrics run the gamut of emotion and are delivered with a raw and honest voice by Matthew Bellamy. Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard add their own individual style and point of view, and it blends together perfectly. This is not your run-of-the-mill indie rock album. It feels larger, more ambitious, and free of any pretension. A true rock gem.

This album, foolishly not released in the US for four years because of a record label dispute with the band over its use of falsetto vocals, puts Muse in the British rock pantheon. While the band's first album (recorded around age 20 or 21) was clearly Radiohead-derived, Origin finds the band expanding its horizons and producing the intense, prog masterpiece that established their reputation.
A solid record with XERO weak tracks, highlights include the guitar rifflicious "Plug In Baby," the Rachmaninov-derived "Space Dementia," and the all-falsetto baroque "Micro Cuts," as well as the power-pop cover of "Feeling Good" and the concert staple "New Born." "Citizen Erased" is another fan favorite. You really can't go wrong!

Back when Muse were younger they belonged to Maddona's label Maverick. Which made this more poppy. But it's still very good. The only problem is the arrangement of the album.
1. Sunburn 10/10. Great piano ostinato (AKA riff) and evil vocals from Matt. The chorus is also very evil and never tires throughout the song.
2. Muscle Museum 10/10. Very intersting guitars (they sound Italian but I could be wrong) intersting vocals 'I have played in every toilet, but you just want to spoil it' and the mix of vocals and guitar at the end is pure genius. Sounds very epic.
3. Filip 7/10. I assume that this is Maverick's doing because it starts off very poppy. The chorus is okay and there is a point where it goes slow and Pink Floydy. ... Read More:

The "Hullabaloo Soundtrack" is a mixed bag. Aside "Absolution," "Black Holes and Revelations" and "Origin of Symmetry," the studio Hullabaloo disc offers little comparison. This disc is what it is . . . a collection of leftovers that weren't good enough to be released on a regular LP. I suppose that we should be grateful that the material has been released since there are some highlights. The instrumentals stand out as both compelling and especially unusual in the Muse pantheon. If you're a Muse fanatic like me, you'll find these tunes interesting, but the material will never resonate like the songs on their more contemporary releases. The selling point for "Hullabaloo Soundtrack" is the live disc. It's a great snap shot at what can now be regarded as an earlier ... Read More:

This album gives me wonderful childhood memories. I remember being in my basement alteranting between the Car Wash soundtrack and C.W. McCall's _Black Bear Road_. (Talk about diversity as a 6-10 year old).
The funk and R&B beats are fantastic. The band, Rose Royce, was put together as an allstar band exemplifying this time period in music.
Thr grooves are unstoppable. You gotta love the simple yet complex vocal harmonies in "Zig Zag."
"Car Wash" may be sometimes overplayed on the radio and at sporting events, but it remains a staple of this era.
"Daddy Rich" is good only if you remember the movie and its plot. (I can't say that I do.)
"put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" has an awesome horn riff...as do most of these tracks.
That's ... Read More:

This is the best Throwing Muses cd. Hersh and Donelly are both in top form. This is the one that made me a fan of the Muses. It's creepy and exciting.
Release Date June 01, 1999
This was a cool soundtrack but it had almost nothing with Mike Myers in it. That was the only dissappointment. Other than that this is a great soundtrack with some super-hits and great songs.
Best 2 Songs- My Generation & American Woman
Worst 2 Songs- Buggin & Soul Bossa Nova
Release Date July 11, 2006
great band, great music. DVD with "old" hits is a bonus but i can only watch it in computer 'cos Im in Iceland but this one is for US and Canada - Anyway, my mistake!
I cannot say this cd is the best from Muse so far but whatever, all of them are good. Bellamy is a genious, no doubt.
