These guys are great live. I've been to 2 of their shows on different tours and in different countries, and the sound is incredible. Had this been an english-singing rock and roll band, this CD would be among the classics like Frampton Comes Alive and The Song Remains the Same. The way the fans respond to the songs just gives this CD such a great feeling to it. It reminds me of the way fans cheer at a Pink Floyd Concert the second the realize "Wish You Were Here" is beginning. And not to mention the songs are great songs. So don't let the language barrier get in the way. Get this CD now!, and the sample music here on Amazon does not do the disc justice. try it out.

This Cd is the first Cd this group made under their new name MANA. It has favorite songs such as perdido en un barco, rayando el sol, estoy agotado, buscandola, falta amor and gitana. All of these songs are now our on their new greatest hits collection called "mana essenciales". I would like to set the record straight in saying that all of these songs do not sound the same,, each one is a different style of music. Also, this group is not four mexicans, one of the aspects of the group that gives it a unique flavor, is the mix of the cuban drummer, the poetic lead singer, and the great guitarists. This CD is a must if wanting to get to know the original MANA.

I'm a gringo and don't speak Spanish very well, but thanks to the Amores Perros soundtrack I've become a big Rock en Espanol fan. Mana is one of the bands that kept popping up in my searches, so I gave Sueños Liquidos a shot and since then I've collected all of their albums.
This disc is a good retrospective of their catalog with a track or two off of each album through Revolución de Amor and it focuses on my personal favorites: the upbeat dancable songs. They have a poppy, rock style and are often compared to U2. I find their music more joyous, but maybe it is just that I don't follow the lyrics too well.
That said...these discs are kind of expensive. Sueños Liquidos and Revolución de Amor are both chock full ... Read More:
I was walking down a street in Cordoba one day and I walked into a cerveceria (tavern) I ordered a small beer, after a few sips I asked the barperson if they had given me a beer with alchohol, my mistake, and he asked why ... I said, if that's not a real beer then this group that you have put on the Hi-Fi is a personal revelation, who are they?
They said, "oh! its Maná", and I said, "nice music", typical Welsh understatement there, they asked me if I liked it and I said "yes, sounds good".
Truth is "En el Muelle de San Blas" knocked my socks off and things just got better and deeper from there.
Maná is an excellent group, who write beautiful songs, and play ... Read More:

Commenting last June on CDs featuring the tenor, Kenny Baker, I wrote that his might be the most beautiful recorded tenor voice of the 20th century. My comparison included a lot of fine tenors, but I hadn't heard John Aler. Recently, I have been listening to him as Jupiter in Handel's SEMELE, then as Nadir in Bizet's PEARL FISHERS, and more recently as the soloist for this album. Kenny Baker's voice is pure, limpid, naturally musical throughout his range. The lower part of Aler's range has less music, but the upper part is richer than Baker's, and the whole is tremendously exciting. Nowhere is his voice lovelier than in the first song on this CD, "I Hear You Calling Me." Composed circa 1903, overflowing with love and longing, it became the immensely ... Read More:

This amazing box set includes 3 of Maná's earliest CDs: "Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran" (1995), "¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?" (1994), and "Falta Amor" (1992). Each CD has it's own style, but all of the songs are awesome. Great addition to your Maná collection! I also highly recommend "Sueños Líquidos" and "Revolución de Amor"!

...this CD is simply called "Maná"! It's the first one of the mexican superstars from Guadalajara...and it's funny to see and hear how this band sounded in the 80'...the songs are quite cool and also hot, because they were young folks who represented Mexico like it really is, from Tijuana to Cancun, from Chihuahua to Tulum, from Acapulco to Veracruz...exotic and magic...Mexico!
