I'm southern and this music speaks to my soul, always has. I grew up on this stuff. I love these boys and I miss them terribly. I still LOVE Gary and Billy, who are with the new "Skynyrd", but I don't think anyone would disagree that we lost the real Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1977.
"Pronounced" is their first album and it has that feel from the road, playing gigs all over the country, driving miles and miles. You can hear that they live what they play.
I hope you will buy this album, kick back with a beer (or a coke a cola), turn it up loud and get to know these extrordinary musicians.
I love RVZ 4ever!!!!

I owned this record in Vinyl already for more than 25 yrs. I rate it among the top 5 live recordings in rock, it's really phenomenal! I decided to buy it in CD, where the sound quality is better and I could get as well several alternate takes as a bonus. It's a must!!

especially this Second Helping M.C.A album, from that legendary band, from Florida, you know the one, this being more or less a greatest hits for the group, obviously at their high peak very best, showcasing all the versatility and influences, song after song,as in the blues when you hear,The Ballad Of Curtis Lowe, and I Need You,revealing Ronnie Van Zant's true colors, then moving full steam ahead is the potent rocker,Call Me The Breeze or the keep to yourself,Don't Ask Me No Questions, and of course the signature song,Sweet Home Alabama. This classic southern rock recording,1974,will stand the test of time, introducing the one and only Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I've been a diehard Skynyrd fan since this album was originally released and it remains my favorite of their entire body of work. This version sounds great and the bonus tracks are a super addition. On top of everything, the price can't be beat!

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gimme Back My Bullets (1976) is the original band's one and only album with a two-guitar lineup, instead of the usual three. Guitarist Ed King left the group during their Torture Tour prior to the recording sessions, and had yet to be replaced by Steve Gaines. Mostly, it was Allen Collins who stepped up to the plate for this album and, along with Gary Rossington and Ronnie Van Zant, wrote this collection of solid southern rock songs that includes several Skynyrd classics (Collins co-wrote seven of the album's eight original songs). Collins and Rossington also handle the added guitar responsibilities with no problem.
The songs include some of Van Zant's most personal lyrics. The heavy touring and hard partying seemed to bring out ... Read More:

i'll make this quick this is probably enough l.s. for any but the most hardcore fans you get all the hits and some good deep cuts it all rocks and is well worth the purchase. that being said my only probelm with this set is that it doesn't include "dont ask me no questions" a song i love but it does in clude two versions of free bird. i would have liked to see them cut the 11:00 min version of free bird for the previously mentiond exclusion and maybe another live track from one more from the road like t for texas or something. but like i said this cd has most anything the casual fan could want and is well worth the buy

I've always been a huge fan of this album. For me, and many others, it's still the best Skynyrd album. Until I picked up this CD, I had no idea that Skynyrd had recorded the album twice. It's interesting to hear the original recordings of these songs. While most of them were done better in the rerecorded versions, it's cool to hear how they were originally done. The two songs that were left off the album are good, but I can see why they left them out. They're not quite up there with the eight songs that made the album. It's nice to hear live versions of some of the Street Survivors songs, but it's a shame the sound quality is so poor.
I love the extended original version of "That Smell." It's not quite as good as the classic version we all know ... Read More:
