I often have "Soundscapes" on during the day, but do not leave on the TV monitor, as I cannot always see it. However, when I do hear a song that grabs my attention, I will walk over and turn on the monitor to see the name and the artist of the song. Many times over the last months, I would see that the song was by Ludovico Einaudi, so many times, in fact, that I eventually bought this album. What a great decision that was! I own hundreds of New Age or instrumental CDs by great artists, but this is superlative music. There are no weak or throw-away cuts here, just powerful, emotional sounds that will grab your heart and not let go. Echoes: The Einaudi Collection

His music is beautiful, it's mellifluous and it leaves you breathless, I highly recommend it and play it regularly for my baby girl at night before she sleeps.

It's nice to hear classical music from a newly discovered (in the USA) artist. I can not pick a favorite track as they are all beautiful. The thread that connects all of them is a serenity that wraps itself around you as you listen to each piece.

Eden Roc

Having heard three other albums by Einoudi including the best of an Le Onde, I decided to purchase Eden Roc expecting more of the same exceptional masterpeices. But I was pleasantly surprised to hear so much more depth and fervour in this work. With guitar and violins integrated into many of the pieces, it just makes some of the songs so incredibly haunting and emotive. There is a lot more structure to this album in comparrison to Le Onde and more diversity throughout the album, with some pieces going on for a long time with just pipes on their own followed the by the slow intergration of a little bit of piano, and others quite vivacious and light, and others just tear jerking masterpieces. Ludovico is a quintessential example of a proponent of the neo-classical style of music, the natural development of late romantic efforts of Erik Satie and his peers. Ludovico's music is often musically fairly simplistic and technically not difficult in many cases, but this is by no means a comment on his talent. For me as an appreciator of this genre the true beauty of his work lies in the vivid self expression and freedom that the player is allowed. I am quite an unskilled pianist, but in playing his work i find a quite unique form of personal expression that is only possible in such free-flowing, emotional music. The Classical Album 2005

This is very good collection of music that brings to life a wide variety of music that is both old and contemporary. The selections vary from composers, historical and famous such as Pavarotti and Puccini to today's James Horner (Titanic, A Beauituful Mind) and John Williams (Star Wars, Sabrina, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan).

If you enjoy the sounds of Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, Enya, Kate Bush, Andrea Bocelli, and various theatre music (Andrew Lloyd Webber (Evita, Cats), then you will find this collection worthy of your appreciation.

wow i discovered this guy not 10 days ago and can't stop listening to this cd or divinire! i've grown up with r&b/hip hop and have explored latin, rock, gospel/christian, country, jazz, dance, alternative, and have now, finally, arrived at classical music. these piano compositions are all i have longed for. my favorite instrument on individual display for my consumption. i've come full circle now. thank you ludovico!
