This album had the most hype of 2008 but has no real substance. All of the 100 mix tapes sound better than this album. Lil Wayne raps like he is in a syrup coma (his lyrics are lazy and non creative) "like the number after one imma get me two" -Lil Wayne, this type of lyricism is unacceptable. With all the talented producers on this album this should be this best album of the year. This album should have been a maxi single with just a milli, misunderstood, nothing on me, and Dr Carter, on all the other songs Wayne raps lazy and sounds drunk. It's like that album "Encore" from Eminem when you think you're the best rapper and get too arrogant it shows. I hear so many people defend Lil' Wayne as one of the greatest lyricists out right now. Ive even heard a few people say hes the greatest rapper of all time????!!!!! to me thats maddening and sickening. If you listened to this album and liked it, your probably too stupid to understand the words I am speaking. I HAVE listened to this album in its entirety and I have come to the conclusion that Lil' Wayne posses NO talent and is NOT a Genius. He does nothing impressive on this album. His record label is laying down his tracks the way they want and he follows orders. I don't care if the guy can make music without writing stuff down, SO WHAT! Tha Carter made me realize why Lil Wayne was my favorite rapper. This is my favorite album of all-time. Illmaticness at it's finest. Every track is easily one of the best songs ever. Wayne comes at you with an entirely different flow and creative style different from his previous albums. This album was worth the money, time, and wait. If you don't like Tha Carter then you don't like hip/hop in my opinion. Unlike many other albums from different artists your finger will be at rest when you play this cd. Yea, you can let this whole cd play. Shout out to Mannie Fresh too, because his beats for this album were incredible. I believe this is the best album since Tupac's All Eyez On Me. Believe Dat!!

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. But I just heard the new Lil Shine album - Money is my Motivation. Listening to Lil Shine in album reminded me of the days when I first heard lil wayne. You should check out the CD .....now before it's too late!

The sophomore album from Lil Wayne finds the youngest Hot Boy taking things a little more seriously than he did the first time round. Granted, there is no thematic consistency to this album, both the lyrics and production are considerably tighter. Part of what gives the album its charm is Wayne's awareness-both of his society and of his own responsibilities. "Grown Man" and "Wish you Would" are surprisingly mature tracks, the like of which were sadly missing on Tha Block is Hot.

Okay. You all know that Juvenile left Cash Money at this time and words were exchanged with Lil Wayne and now we have this sorry attempt at a comback. For starters Lil Wayne can flow well on occasion. Most of the time he falls on his face especially when he feels himself. This album shows you that arrogant rappers will always fail to make a quality album. The Good: Way Of Life was a decent first single. Gangsta's And Pimps is not bad even though Jazze Pha's awful singing could be left off the track. Bloodline and Where Ya At show his bits and pieces of his true potential. Gangsta S*** feat Petey Pablo is a dope collabo.
The Bad. Look At Me is corny. Lovely is not far behind. Worry Me, Young N Blues and Fo Sheezy tranquilizers on wax. Go Hard is just as pathetic. ... Read More:
