A very powerful album with a classical/progressive sound. Judas Priest are successful at creating well balanced and imaginative concept album. I have been playing this exclusively since buying it ,it just keeps getting better every time I listen to it. A great gift to Priest Fans, they have done nothing like this before. A full 5 stars on this one!.
Release Date April 11, 2006
The Essential Judas Priest is a two disc set that adequately covers the Metal Gods' career from their earliest roots through 2005. Songs from their 2nd earliest effort, "Sad Wings Of Destiny" to their reunited "Angel Of Retribution" album are included. Their lackluster debut "Rocka Rolla" has been thankfully overlooked.
Covering the band's more than three decade career is a hard feat with only a two disc set and I'm sure many people would want different songs included and some omitted. Overall, they have culled together a collection that a Priest neophyte to a long time fan will enjoy.
All songs are taken from their phenomenal remastered catalog and include such staples as "Breaking The Law," "Delivering The Goods," and their ... Read More:

"British Steel" is an important part of Judas Priest's career, because it marked an obvious change in their sound, and even image. Don't get me wrong, though, their '70s output was awesome, with such classics as "Stained Class", "Sin After Sin" and "Hellbent For Leather". But "British Steel" was the album where Priest put a new spin on their sound. As opposed to the bluesier, more psychedelic/acid-rock sound of their '70s classics, "British Steel" was a pure metal release, and you can hear this album's influence in such bands as Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax.
Here's a list of the songs and how I feel about them:
"Rapid Fire": A fast, chugging riff and a great drum intro kick off this speed-metal masterpiece. Lots of epic, action-based lyrics and ... Read More:

I'll keep this short and sweet, this album is the best of Judas Preist peroid. Can I also mention this is possibly and of course argubly the best heavy metal album of all time. This should be mentioned in the same breathe as any Ozzy and Sabbath album, any Maiden album, and Master of Puppets as well. Legendary band at their best.....

I picked this remastered version up last week, after not having heard the album itself in almost twenty-five years. To put it simply, I was completely ROCKED by it. I had let Hell Bent For Leather get neglected in my beloved Judas Priest collection, mostly because I felt the recording had way too thin a sound and a weak production quality overall. The songs mostly sounded WAY better live.
My listening to the remaster completely changed my mind. From the quintessential Judas Priest ruckus of "Deliverin' The Goods", to the what-if-Led-Zeppelin-had-any-real-balls pound of "Evil Fantasies", this album wipes out most everything that existed for Rock and Metal at that time. Sure, "Highway To Hell" overall rocked harder, and Scorpions' "Lovedrive" had more than a couple of ... Read More:

Man, the boys must of taken some viagra and chased it with a crack pipe. This is some heavy stuff. Its really good throughout... and I think its one of the best Priest out there, and I love their older stuff. I didn't think they would top SFV or SC but they have with this monster. Awesome stuff.

Definitely the last of the classic albums. It's a solid rocker, but I still hold Stained Class as the ultimate Priest masterpiece.
Release Date January 25, 2000
"Sad Wings Of Destiny," Judas Priest's second album, is an absolute classic and set the benchmark for what an intelligent, musically intricate rock album should be. Luminaries such as Metallica and Megadeth among many others have cited this album as an inspiration - and rightfully so.
Judas Priest's "Sad Wings Of Destiny" was a complete departure from their lackluster debut "Rocka Rolla" and was the impetus for the sound Priest would embark on for the next thirty years of their career. Beginning with the anthemic "Victim Of Changes," which has to be one of the best metal songs of all time, "Sad Wings Of Destiny" shows Halford, Tipton, Downing at their best.
To be honest, I didn't enjoy "Sad Wings Of Destiny" at first but found that is has grown on me over time and is now ... Read More:

Sin After Sin is eternal. One of my favorite albums ever.
Contemporary and far beyond its time. Maybe because they had just left Gull Records and may have acknowledged the fact that they were starting to write history as they were engulfed by history itself, helping invent this thing that gave shape to our world as we know it, this thing called Heavy Metal.
Am I exaggerating? Nope.
Roger Glover of Deep Purple fame produces this artwork, but the Universe conspired with the making of this album in many ways.
A young 19 year-old guy is responsible for the drums and percussion of Sin After Sin. You know his name? Yep, I'm talking about Simon Phillips, my friends. He was freaking 19. I, myself a brazilian percussionist and drummer, can't say how awesome the drumming in this album is. Call For ... Read More:
