I brought this for my daughters 2nd birthday as she loves the movie and trying for her not to watch so much t.v
She has her own c.d player in her room [no t.v]
We listen it it everyday we sing and dance in her room.
All the songs are included as they run in the movie including bonus track that we also listen to. which included tracks that never made it into the movie that we also love
I think music is so wonderful and why not a soundtrack I grow up with soundtracks of movies on records my daughters speech is amazing from learning the words to the songs

Later in her career, Carol Burnett turned to loud humor based on family conflict, and I lost my taste for her. However, this is early Carol Burnett and displays her at her best. I would also add that she did an excellent turn as the queen in the recent television version of this musical.
There is a wonderful line in the play, just after Winifred's appearance climbing over the wall, that establishes her character, even before "I'm Shy." She looks at the crowd and exclaims, "I swam the moat." My remembrance of the Burnett television showing was that she gave an emphasis to the line. Like many of my generation, I was aware of Jack Jones through some of his TV and movie themes, but otherwise dismissed him as "my parents' crooner." Fast forward several decades, and with a new satellite radio subscription, I find myself being drawn to (shudder) an all-standards station. It plays heavy doses of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Mel Torme, as expected, but there's one other voice I keep hearing that catches my attention - a voice that's so perfect, smooth and seemingly effortless. One day these amazing vocals came on, singing "Love with the Proper Stranger," with such honest emotion and soaring romanticism. ... there's no argument that Jack Jones has one of the greatest voices ever recorded in the adult easy-listening format, right up there with the likes of Engelbert Humperdinck in terms of being very precise in his vocal delivery... it's unfortunate that his abilities were not pushed further beyond balladeering, because "Wives And Lovers" veers slightly on the swing side and it sounds terrific - uptempo stuff really suited him. The "Love Boat" Theme was a nice change of pace for a guy who was taking himself too seriously for way too long.

I can't believe I never even heard of Moondog until this week. I heard this double CD at a friend's house and immediately purchased it. I love it! The range of styles and moods, the sheer beauty of the compositions: breathtaking. This has become a favorite very quickly.

One Hundred Greatest TV Themes

Face it, the appeal of TV theme songs is their familiarity. You know every sound in your favorites. You won't find any of that here. Some of these aren't even close to the originals. A lot are performed on cheap, lifeless digital synths. All of them sound like tired run-throughs of the music. There is no apparent interest on the part of the performers, so why should any listener be interested?

It's disappointing that Jack Jones' incredible catalogue of Kapp albums remains largely unreleased by MCA America. It's even sadder - and more surprising - that one particular Kapp title is unfamiliar to most American Songbook fans today: Jones' one-time collaboration with premier arranger Nelson Riddle. It seems incomprehensible, doesn't it, that ANY project of the legendary Riddle could be forgotten? While his Sinatra work still gets compiled and reissued frequently, and his albums with Linda Ronstadt have already been repackaged several times on CD, his '65 masterpiece with Jones, THERE'S LOVE & THERE'S LOVE & THERE'S LOVE, has been denied such recognition, outside of this CD release from MCA's UK division.
