If you're a Buffet fan, you'll enjoy. If you're a country fan, maybe not. JB puts his own style to the songs, hence Buffet fans will enjoy. Some country fans don't like messing with their music, and some reviews definitely didn't like the different spin on well known songs.

I never know what to expect from a Buffett album. sometimes I can pop it in and listen straight through and love every song. and sometimes there's one song or two I like and the rest are strictly fast forward numbers. sadly there have been fewer keepers than there used to be and I finally realized one reason when I was scanning the credits on this album. I've missed Fingers Taylor more than I knew I would. It's great to have him back. I've always found that the songs I love are usually the ones with the harmonica wailing in the background.

I've found myself humming the songs from this album even when the CD wasn't on, which means they've stuck with me. and that hasn't happened in a while.

Simply put this is Buffett's best album. "A Pirate Looks At Forty", "Presents To Send You", "Nautical Wheelers" and "Migration" are my favorites but everything on here is outstanding. I know people have to change over the years but like other reviewers have said Buffett's sound diverged from my tastes after Changes In Latitude Changes In Attitude.

A1A is a record for beer, cookouts, pickup trucks, having a good time.

This was the first Buffett album I heard and it remains my favorite - he is a troubador in the finest sense of the word, traveling the country and telling our stories through music and song. Anyone with a sense of humor and an appreciation for the ridiculous things in life will love this album and this artist! Parrotheads rule!
