I bought this Cd two years ago, and I have to say that it is full of creepy classical music. When I heard this, I was happy to hear the song of "Dance Macabre". It was very creepy. The other tracks were good as well as "Night On Bald Mountain". I think the song "Dance Macabre" should be great for the reading of the Edgar Alan Poe story called "The Mask Of The Red Death". The song would fit the story pretty well, because it provides the dark, and spooky atmosphere of the story. This Cd is great for Halloween. Highly recommended.

Rudy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

I was feeling down one day. Just felt that the world wanted to kick me around and not let me get back up. Then I watched tv and Rudy was on! The musical score is AWESOME! I knew I had to have it and Amazon did! Jerry Goldsmith, God rest his soul, was a brilliant composer. The feelings of exhileration and defeat and then finally redemption thouroughly make this cd an instant pick-me-up. I played this during a trip to school, in the rain, and on St. Patrick's Day and the day turned out to be great because of the positive themes perpetrating in my head. Totally awesome!

you would have to buy dozens of individual soundtracks to include even some of the music here. slight adjustment to john williams (for example) originals but well performed. outstanding variety. use these cds to jump start your day with triumph!

Alien

The 1979 version of the Alien soundtrack was a truncated misfire, and the 1988 CD rerelease did nothing to restore the many, many missing parts (or even clean up the existing ones, which were hissier than a bag of angry cats). To hear this incredibly atmospheric, downright spooky original score, the one that practically /makes/ the film what it is, is a real treat and well worth collecting. A similar fate happened to another Ridly Scott film, Bladerunner, whose fans had to settle for a hacked-up cover of the far superior original score by Vangelis. Thankfully, this Jerry Goldsmith favorite was properly salvaged. I dare you to listen to it at night... alone... :)

Scary Music

So dissappointed in every single track. I was looking forward to 'better than TV' sound quality. Yes, that is about all you get. The arrangements are overblown and goofy, like a stereo cartoon soundtrack. If they had stayed with the orignal arrangements of all the themes this might have been a decent disc. Do not buy this expecting to play it on Halloween.

If you're hunting for the PATTON score you know and love, this ain't it. Good music, as it goes, but lacks the energy and clarity of the theatrical release soundtrack. Without the pivotal opening speech delivered by George C. Scott, it just ain't the same. If you are not familiar with the theater score, this recording may suffice. In the same vein (not having possession of the theatrical release soundtrack for comparative value, so not knowing any better), I can say that I did enjoy the TORA, TORA, TORA score.
