Jeff never failed to excite the crowd, wether playing his blistering style of blues/rock or his wonderful jazz. I have seen Jeff play both on a number of occassions throughout his career. We, the music public have lost a great musician, the Healey family has lost a precious member of their family.
His music and memory will last forever. Thank you Jeff!!!!!

The Very Best of The Jeff Healey Band

This is my first Jeff Healey CD, so I can't say if its really "the best" of JH, but it's all good. I think covers of Badge, Yer Blues, and especailly While my Guitar Gently Weeps are excellent. The other covers and original works are very good. I play a little guitar and can appreciate his style. I guess I'll have to buy some other albums to see if other reviewers are right about others being better. But don't hesitate to buy this one.

Despite Healey's preference for playing brass and singing traditional jazz, he sure can make that blues-rock guitar sing, despite admitting to inebriation and jetlag during this live performance. It's a sign of professionalism that he can still inject passion and soul into music that doesn't otherwise inspire him.

Audiophiles may be scared off by the earlier tracks, but "Roadhouse Blues", "See The Light" and "Hoochie Coochie Man" are worth the price of the disc on their own. Drummer Tom Stephen and bassist Joe Rockman were right on top of their game here.

The tremendously talented Pat Rush played second guitar in 1999, but erstwhile feral guitarist Philip Sayce (Melissa Etheridge) appears on two 1997 insertions ... Read More:

Feel This

FEEL THIS is Jeff Healey's third great album in a row. The song "Cruel Little Number" is a blazing rocker with some sizzling Allman/Winter licks, and the other songs are great, too. It was rare for young artists in 1992 to maintain such consistency, but Healey made it look easy. This album's instrumental intensity made the franticness of such artists as Nirvana and Pearl Jam sound like bubblegum.

I couldn't understand before I purchased this album, why he did covers(Being as talented as he is) until I lisened to the cd. Now I know. He simply wanted to do some of his favorites and what a job he did. With his deep throaty vocals, and fiery lead guitar riffs, he sheds new light on these already famous tunes.
I'm not much for a band with an already great repertoire doing covers but he does the songs justice. Listening to him sing with passion and fire to an already great list of songs, he adds a twist to them that you haven't heard before.

I've been collecting music since I was 6 years old from 8-track to vynil to compact cassette to CD and now audio DVD. I first saw Jeff played in the movie Roadhouse. I can say Jeff is an exceptional guitar player with his crisp and clean guitar riffs and licks. I would strongly recommend you guys out there who likes to spend time on the road to get this Master Hits album that holds Jeff's masterpieces. There's never gonna be a boring trip once you start playing Jeff's CD on your blaster.

Forever Young: Awesome 80s Slow Dance

I'm not really a fan of these "Cheap" compilations that you find at places like Target and Wal-Mart and K-Mart and stuff, but I really wanted to own this when I sampled it at Target, but it was never in stock until several days ago, and I snagged it up immediately. Classic tracks from The Jeff Healey Band, Foreigner, Air Supply, The Cars, Cutting Crew, and more. And what better way to close the album with the song it's named after:"Forever Young" by Alphaville! Which is not just one of the greatest songs of the 80s, but one of the best songs of all time!

to bad that jeff lost his american record deal,but its good to see jeff come out with a great cd like my life story. cd is filled with good rockin blues to a few great ballards with flowing solos and great vocals. jhb is still going strong and with the help of amazon this cd should be a good seller for old and new fans of the jhb
