If you've got a thing for music then you should enjoy this. You can feel Buckley's emotion and soul come through in the recording. You can hear the imperfections and feel how real it is. Beautiful lyrics along with his voice take you away. If you listen to music and truly enjoy doing so, then you will not be disappointed.
Most people will probably buy this album for Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah. That's a perfectly legitimate reason as he definitely recorded the definitive version. However once you start listening to the other tracks, you realize you just hit the jackpot. "Lilac Wine," "Lover, You Should've Come Over," and "So Real" are great ones to start off with. His death was tragic, but his legend will live on with his ... Read More:

I cannot believe the negative and unfortunate reviews here for this album. Do so many people really feel cheated by this CD, calling it a bunch of rough demos? That is just insane!
Heres the thing - this is a very superior collection of songs that in no way can be called demos. Just because they aren't of the highly polished variety such as the ones on 'Grace' in no way makes these recordings inferior.
Take for instance the second track - 'Everybody here wants you' - is there a single more touching torch song in the entire Jeff Buckley catalog? I don't think so. What a song. What a melody. What a voice! That song alone is the worth the $15 asking price for this CD.
Needless to say, I am a huge Jeff Buckley fan, ... Read More:

Bob Dylan has described Jeff Buckley as "one of the great songwriters" of our time. Jimmy Page considers Grace one of his favorite albums. This 2007 "best of" compilation album not only offers a good introduction to those new to the music of compelling singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley (1966-1997), but the album also offers a few interesting surprises for Buckley's cult following. Of course all the Buckley studio standards from Grace and Sketches (For My Sweetheart the Drunk) are here: "Mojo Pin," "Grace," Cohen's "Hallelujah," and "Je n'en connais pas la fin," together with tracks from his live album, Live at Sin-é. The album also features an alternate take of "Dream Brother," a road version of "Eternal Life" (both from the Grace Legacy Edition) and a live acoustic ... Read More:

This CD set, probably more than any other product released, reveals more of the personality and charm of Jeff while interacting with the audience, and more importantly, shows his passion and emotion for the music he plays. Listeners familiar with the songs released on the Grace album will find them re-presented in a new, but certainly not diminished, light. Some songs in particular that show their more sentimental sides are "Eternal Life", "Grace", and "Lover, You Should've Come Over".
This is an exquisite representation of Jeff's talent and charisma. A must have.

I've been listening to this CD for six months now. The songs, orchestrations, and singers are all wonderful. I love this CD.

To start with, I am a huge Jeff Buckley collector, and pride myself on the various rare bootlegs and vintage recordings that I have (including ones from the late 1980s that I suspect ANYONE else could possibly have - yes, I could myself very lucky).
That said, I am always critical when they release a Jeff Buckley record, and this one was no exception. Don't get me wrong, when they do it right, they REALLY do it right. The collector in me was ecstatic when they released the 3 Disc 'Live in Sin E' a few years ago - that remains perhaps the best document of Jeff as a live performer.
Needless to say, I was not at all happy with this recording. The only saving grace is that they stuffed as much music as possible onto this, thus giving us our moneys' worth. But ... Read More:

It may be coincidental that my favourite Jeff Buckley songs were written by others...'Lilac Wine' and 'Hallelujah'. But in the usual banter we have when comparing him to his father, it's Tim trumping the prodigal with his lyric skills, which is by no means an attempt to diminish Jeff's gifts. 'Grace' is unquestionably a more listenable, intimate and coherent album than any of his fathers'. And if you wanted added proof of his virtuosity then this concert, held in July 1995,is a fabulous testament. The warmth of his voice is astonishing. But my prompt to get the album is the incomparable, final track, with my idol, Alim Qasimov, not from the concert at L'Olympia. It's tacked on, fairly seamlessly, from a concert of Sacred Music, held two weeks later, in the small village of Saint Florent ... Read More:

Fans have rightly complained about too many posthumous Jeff Buckley releases, but this import-only live album is something special. Buckley considered his Summer 1995 performances at the Paris venue L'Olympia, once the haunt of his idol Edith Piaf, to be among the best of his career. Incredibly, Buckley had a cassette tape of the performance which, except for a little hiss and some slightly unideal miking, sounds quite fine.
The first Buckley live release, MYSTERY WHITE BOY, was a mishmash of American concert dates. Though they show Buckley still in fine vocal form--by the L'Olympia dates his voice had been weakened from excessive smoking--the selections for that album are tame and unexciting. On the L'Olympia recordings, however, he really lets loose. The album starts with ... Read More:
