I was just asked to list my Top 5 CD's of all time, and this is one of them. So, i thought i'd add a review. Not a whole lot i can say except to me - this is the best of the best. Incubus is awesome, and IMO this is their best. LOVE IT.

I'm a newer fan to Incubus (I bought this CD in 2005) but I absolutely love them and this CD is amazing! It's a lot different than their previous albums and this whole CD has a very California, laid-back vibe to it. Awesome lyrics, wonderful vocals, and it's very catchy! I recommend this to everyone!

Finally for the fans of Incubus the wait is over. Ever since their last release of A Crow Lift of the Murder fans of the band have been "on-hold". On their sixth album "Light Grenades" Incubus doesn't disappoint. yet doesn't go above & beyond it's past releases. The song material is good, yet some lyrical content was slight disappointing.
Brendan O'Brien produces this album who has done previous albums and overall the production is good, yet some songs sound too compressed and over-produced. It lacks the fierce emotion in the vocals of singer Brandon Boyd that I loved in past Incubus releases. Songs on this album include "Quicksand", "Anna Molly", "Love Hurts" and the title track of "Light Grenades".

I recently bought this CD and listen to it with my Halo obsessed boys. Upon the beginning of each song, I'm given a lesson -from my boys- about where the song is in the video game and what is happening at the time- Master Chief's continuing struggle to save the world. Listening to the songs apart from the video game has given me a whole new listening experience...one that I very much enjoy. I feel the struggle and determination. Wonderful!

When I first bought this in '04, I HATED it. Then, I saw Incubus live, got to meet Brandon on the tour, and started to listen to the CD more. I didn't even like Megalomaniac when I first heard it. I have been a die hard Incubus man for a VERY VERY long time, and it took quite a few listenings to fully appreciate. My favorites are Crow Left of The Murder, Agoraphobia, Smile Lines, Here in My Room, Sick Sad Little World, Pistola, shoot, with the exception of Priceless, there isn't a song I DON'T consider a favorite. I'm not a big lyricist- some people criticize Brandon harshly but I don't really mind. If I did, I probably wouldn't be in the Air Force right now. As a musician, however, this remains an achievement of sorts, as few bands dare to make the strides Incubus ... Read More:

This is classic Incubus. I actually wish they still sounded more like this, though I do love their new material as well. The first few times I listened, I mostly paid attention to the music, which I love, especially while I go running. Then I checked out the lyrics and realized how profound this album really is. Full of energy, anger, insight, and ultimately, screams for society to transform itself through individual effort. Brilliant.

Funk metal at its finest. This record is pure energy all the way through. It's also very fun to listen to. The musicianship is startling, considering that this was written when the band members were still in their teen years. The sweet drumming, groovy bass and super-creative guitar are impressive, with solos and funky instrumental breaks everywhere.
This sounds absolutely nothing like the Incubus most people know and love, but that's not necessarily a bad thing at all. The songs aren't very complex or sophisticated, but most of them are highly entertaining, even if the lyrics can be a little "out there" at times. There's a video for "Take Me to Your Leader" which you can probably find on the internet or one of their DVD's. The silliness there gives you a good idea of what ... Read More:

This album was one of the first albums to feature scratchin' with heavier guitars. I liked the african bongo type sound laced with jazzy guitar licks. The album has quite a split between some real heavy sounds and real mellowing type of sounds. I was very curious about any music at the time I bought this and this ended up a near perfect buy along with S.C.I.E.N.C.E. some time later-- a more consistent heavier album.

Vitamin records has been releasing these cd's like wild fires, just spreading orchestral music to the lesser audience of it. This cd will give you the rock music that originally started this who phenomenon (apocalyptica).
This cd is great for anyone interested in hearing the depth of a music genre. Typically when you hear a rock song, you dont hear really how the singer is supposed to influence the musical sense of the songs, but when the singer's role is put into a more balanced/equal role with the rest of the musicians, it contributes so much more to the musicality of the song. It is great for beginner musicians to understand that the singer has to be in tune with the band because he is added depth to the music, not just vocals. College music majors might also get a kick out of ... Read More:
