This is Hip Hop finest hour. No doubt a breath of fresh air from the air pollution that has been saturating the air waves. The GZA comes with his usual unorthodox flow and uncanny delivery (0% finance). He even steps outside of his normal zone and go after 50 (Paper Plates). He held it down nonetheless. 7 pounds is by far the hottest joint on the album. There are several mediocre joints and the lackluster RZA produced Pencil ft. Master Killa, which prevents the album from being a solid 5. However. Joints like Alphabets, Fire House, and Path of Destruction makes Pro Tools a solid buy.

Don't need to say much about this album since it's already been said countless times. Listen to this album instead of all the mainstream manufactured garbage that's out today also get the new Pro Tools CD- Another GZA CLASSIC!!

Grandmasters

Obviously Liquid Swords is my favorite by GZA. It's not only my favorite by him, or my favorite Hip Hop album, it ranks in my top favorite albums of any genre. Luckely, I've gotten over the fact that there'll never be another Liquid Swords album, because once you do that, you can enjoy his other work for what it is, and not be distracted by wack comparisons.

To Grandmasters ...
This I'll have to say is GZA's best - lyrically. His lyrics (as usual) are well thought, written, arranged, and presented ... but if you pay close attention, he's not only as sharp as he used to be, he's dangerously sharp. Beneath the Surface

as far as lyrics are concerned its straight hip hop. its a nice effort by gza but by all means cannot be compared to liquid swards. i really dont understand rza wasnt fully involved as he was with gza's first master piece. really want to know what would have happened if the album would have sounded like if it was the next chapter of siquid swords rather than a whole new book.

Favorite Children's Songs

Last month I bought this 3 CD collection for my almost 4 year old daugther. What a great purchase! We listen to it driving and singing like mad in the car. She asks for "Bingo" practically every day. I agree with the reviewer who said that some of the songs are "revised" - a bit jazzy or just slightly more modern - in fact, I think that is what makes the CDs so terrific. If you are looking for music for your little ones that you will also enjoy (singing and dancing together), this is it.

Legend of the Liquid Sword

The only problem i have with this album that it is
very repetitive and almost every song sounds like a
duplicate of the next well i have another problem
with the album as well it sounds like the gza is
using a bunch of big words trying to sound deep but
it comes across sounding redundant and lame
Overall it is a good outting for the genius!

My intro to Chocolate Genius was a live concert where he and the band were the opening act. When all was said and done, they blew away the main event to the point where I can't honestly recall who it was we were there to see. Chocolate Genius is one of the best live performers I've ever seen -- he establishes an immediate, deep connection with the audience, he's an incredible improviser (often incorporating events in the concert hall directly into his lyrics extemporaneously) and he has an incredible voice. Frankly, the soulfulness of his music and his delivery simply are not represented well on any of his CDs.
