I enjoyed this CD because I like the tenors on it very much, and it included a number of selections where the three men are singing together, or cooperatively and that was the best part.

A wonderful collection of Hollywood musical moments that you will enjoy over and over again. The recordings are crisp and clear. This 2 disc set will have you running to rent these classic movies. Kelly, Astaire, Garland, Crosby, Keel and many others were one-of-a-kind talents . What a great way to remember them.

This lady has one great voice. She can certainly sell a song. My only reservation about her is that she's a bit cocky. I think she could use some humility.

if yer like me and start investigating different types of music check this out! Vincent epitimizes this era of music and is truly one of the frontrunners, of rockabilly, more entertaining than Presly mor edge than the Everly's and cool licks. No wonder why Issacs and others emulate him Bee Bop A Lula what more can ya say? learn to play rockabilly play along with GENE probably what Setzer did!

Well, yes, there's some debate as to whether or not Gene Vincent was or is "King of Rock & Roll" material. As a lifelong fan of Gene Vincent, I can tell you that, hell no, Gene Vincent wasn't qualified for that title, and he just barely qualifies as a Rock & Roll Legend. Face it, although a compilation of Gene's work sounds fantastic, the fact is that Gene Vincent was a hot dog, a hit & miss performer (mostly miss), who had an addictive personality and a whole string of substance abuse problems that hindered him throughout his career. He could NEVER establish himself as the king of anything, because he was seldom IF EVER at the top of his own game.
Yes, Gene's die-hard fans may rightly blame his injuries and debilitating ... Read More:

Knew Gene Baby by reputation only, until about 10 years ago when I picked up something out of a remainder bin. Of course Be Bop A Lula had entered the subcutaneous tissue by osmosis somehow over the years but that's all I knew of Gene. This disk doesn't disappoint. I'm with Jeff Beck on Gene and his guitarist. Absolute masters of the art. Very stylized sound. Still surprisingly "modern". Taught, minimal, spare, cool. They captured a moment in time perfectly ... along with Chuck Berry, Eddy Cochran, the Kingster, et al. That moment being late 50s Americana ... red blue genes, hotrods, sexed-up chicadees, record machines, and coca cola. Before the rot set in, and cocain, heroin, and androgeny became the accompaniments to a perfect evening. It had all ... Read More:

Recorded hot on the heels of Gene Vincent's hitting with "Be Bop a Lula", this is the earliest document of the classic Blue Caps line-up...the LP oddly leaves out their biggest hit, but makes up for it by capturing the lightning-in-a-bottle of Gene and the band at their Hadacol & trucker-speed fueled greasy best. Cliff Gallup is at the top of his game here, running supernaturally-fast lead-solos, shutting down 99% of the boomer-icon "guitar heroes" still plaguing the FM dial. The album also dips into tin pan alley ballad standards like "Ain't She Sweet"...I actually really like their take on that material, as it really shows off Gene's vocal abilities.
Thanks to Norton Records for making Vincent's Capital LPs available again on vinyl, the way ... Read More:

Every cut a classic. Every note beautiful. Everything Gene Vincent put out rocks and rolls with a fiery passion that has been unmatched since. Even when the man switched to country tinged rock in the 70's the songs were gut-wrenchingly filled with pain and passion. Elvis was King but Gene Vincent was a God!
