I paid extra to get a copy of this CD that was described as "Like New." The CD plays fine, but the case was nasty and broken. It would have made a much better impression to spend the small amount it costs to replace the case before shipping.

Like anyone with a brain and a diverse taste in music, I like this album a lot. You can easily tell from the reviews that it's a controversial album, and you can just as easily tell why when you read the negative reviews. Most of them seem to say (paraphrased) "I don't like it because it's not country". I have but one word for those folks: "Duh". If you were led to believe that it would be the same as his others, you have only yourself to blame. I personally like the review "I used to believe if a country star sings a song it is country." No Fences

This is the only Garth Brooks still in my collection, and it's still pretty good and quite listenable. Garth is no Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, or Merle Haggard, but on this album, he manages to make a very good country album. Most modern country stars are slick and over packaged, but Garth never felt like that. One of my favorite songs on this album is New Way to Fly. It's one of Garth's most beautiful, moving songs (he also co-wrote it), and that song has the soul and depth that old country music always seems to find. As for the other songs, if you're not singing along to Friends in Low Places, you're an uptight sod. The song Unanswered Prayers is actually pretty good. Its lyric and message is quite moving. As the editorial suggests, this is Garth Brooks' best album. If you only own one, own this one.... it's beautiful, beginning to end... especially the end... The Dance. If you don't own it, then your CD library is pretty annoying.

The CD is pretty good, I have enjoyed it. I purchased this CD from Fotrecords. On the case it says "If this compact disc is cut or drilled or marked for promotional use only it is not for sale and neither the artist, songrwriters or publishers receive any compensation." The CD they sold my is cut, so illegal to sell.

The Limited Series

First off, this is a fantastic box set! I had never heard any Garth Brooks before purchasing the OTHER box set of a similar title also called 'Limited Series'.

Which brings me to my main point here. As of Sept 2008 you can get BOTH Box Set #1 and Box Set #2 for very little cash, either 'new' or 'like-new'. This is probably one of the BEST box set deals avail on Amazon, especially if you have little to no Garth Brooks in your collection (ie me).
Just be aware that sellers oft get these box sets confused. If you check out the pix that customers imaged here you'll see that one of them is that OTHER box set. I had ordered this one here from a seller and got THAT set. Now I have 2 of Box Set #2.

Garth Brook's Fresh Horses was originally released in 1995. It is a great CD with a variety of music that showcases this legend's talent. On a scale of 1 to 5 in keeping with Amazon's theme, I grade the songs as follows:

1. Old Stuff: A fast paced ode to the older songs. Four of Five
2. Cowboys and Angels: A nice song. Three of Five
3. Fever: Three of Five
4. That Ol' Wind: Four of Five
5. Rollin': Three of Five
6. Change: Three of Five
7. Beaches of Cheyenne: Five of Five. A great song.
8. To Make You Feel My Love: Five of Five, and outstanding ballad.
9. It's Midnight Cinderella: Three of Five
