Deborah

by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date June 11, 1997
Deborah seems to do best when she goes into the recording studio and does her own thing. Her best albums are the ones that don't leave you with the impression that she is looking for a big comeback (Body Mind Soul and MYOB). On "Deborah", you get the feeling the she went into the recording studio just wanting to record good music and nothing else mattered. Although she attempted to shed a more mature sound and imagine on "Body Mind Soul", it is "Deborah" along with "Think with Your Heart" that really show her growth and maturity.

What I liked about this album:
The variety of songs and although I don't love every song, there are no fillers on this album.
The most notable tracks are:
"Ode to a Would Be Lover" ... Read More:

Release Date March 06, 2001
One of the things I've liked best about Deborah Gibson, is that no two of her albums are alike. On each album, she has taken a different turn. MYOB is no exception. Vocally, this is by far Deborah's best album. However, MYOB may leave some listeners confused. She starts out the album sounding like she was fighting to compete with what was currently on the radio at the time. As the album continues, she ventures out to sounds that are completely new to her. This album has been released nearly 7 years ago and for the most part I enjoy it just as much (if not a little better) than the year it was released. When I can say that about an album, I know it's a good one.

"MYOB" - I really enjoy her vocals on this one; however this is not one of her ... Read More:

Antonio Vivaldi: The Complete Sacred Music

from: Hyperion UK

Release Date November 08, 2005
Test of a little meeting. When Antionio Vivaldi 1741 died in Vienna, he left a stately spiritual work. A large part of these compositions which were not sighted yet or still not authorized for the publication to this day was sighted only approx. 90 years ago in which one knows, the Vivaldi still had set many further spiritual works to music. The spiritual work contains a variety of compositions to Latin Messlyrics, Psalmlyrics, hymns, motets and the received Juditha Triumphanes. Robert King succeeds in an extremely colorful, vigorous and nevertheless deeply hearty religious account of the known works Vivaldis with this Complete Sacred Music . Conductor, choir, orchestra and soloists have taken the excellent sacrale music of the great master almost 13 hour music ... Read More:

Only in My Dreams 1998

by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date February 03, 1998

Miss Deborah Gibson teams up with Junior Vasquez in the studio to re-create Gibson's staple song "Only In My Dreams". For the late 1990's Deborah and Junior take the song into Euro Dance-Pop territory and what do you know? It works well. By the look of the cd's cover Miss Deborah does her aerobic exercise workouts to this High-NRG remake!

Now for the mixes. The club mix is complete and is the best on the disc. The shorter club version with Deb's "rap" comes in second and would have been good for radio. The Rave Vocal Mix takes it a bit serous with it's overall darker production. This mix is okay. Things get a bit repetitious with the four du(m)b mixes which seem to rehash each other over. Perhaps one dub mix for the Club and Rave mixes ... Read More:

Naked

by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date March 08, 2005
While I wouldn't call "Naked" a groundbreaking song or her best song ever, it is well worth purchasing. Over Deborah's 20+ years recording music, she has played around and experimented with various sounds and styles. "Naked" is a pleasant addition to her cateloge. "Naked" sounds earthy and raw and is sung with sincerity and conviction. While I think that technically Deborah's a better broadway singer than pop singer, it''s her conviction when singing the pop songs that make her pop music so great.

A great dance techno wonder....Deborah shows even after 10 years she can still hit the Billboard Charts with this little number. A definite buy! Also look out shes back with a new album sometime this year, she is already getting fantastic airplay with her latest single "What You Want", and is already in the Top 20 request line at KRBE a top pop radio station in Houston.

by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date December 21, 2004
Debbie Gibson's back with this, her 7th Album, which showcases her growth as an artist and producer. On her previous releases, such as "Think With Your Heart" and "Moonchild" she virtually writes and produces her own material (her songwriting credits even include the Billboard#1 singles Foolish Beat and Lost In Your Eyes back in the late 80's). This time, she's back with a material that has a strong inclination to the present mainstream pop audience. Check-out dance floor tracks such as MYOB, Your Secret ( a soon to be released dance single and take note of it's incredible lyrics!), Wishing You Were Here is great and melodic.
What Part of No is also one of the dance tracks that easily blends-in with todays pop acts. Also included are heartfelt ballads such as The ... Read More:

Your Secret

by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date November 13, 2001
"Your Secret" was a single from Deborah Gibson's 2001 album, M.Y.O.B. All the remixes on the disc were done by Mike Rizzo.

The "Pop Radio Mix" is an edit of the album version. I feel this edit is rather awkward; personally, I would have cut the opening vocals from the track, and started with the instrumental that follows. I like the feel of the album version, and always felt this song had the most potential as a single.

The "Hot Vocal Radio Mix" removes the "Latin influence" of the original, replacing it with an electronic/synth sound. The "Short Vocal Radio Mix" is a slightly different music track from the "Hot Vocal Radio Mix" (but the differences are rather subtle). The "Squeaky Clean Intro Mix" cuts the opening vocal intro of the song; musically, ... Read More:
