I belong to the same Temple as Debbie, so maybe I'm biased but...my tastes run Beck/Radiohead/Tori Amos and ironically, she fits into that combination perfectly. This is a religious CD made for those of the Jewish persuasion, to be sure. It's perfect for either private time background music or as thoughtful meditations. Thank G-d Debbie is a Jew and chooses to use her gift to create soundtracks for us. She's a gift from G-d, to be sure. Yeah, ok, some of it is kinda MOR but it's only a few songs. `Miriam's Song' is the bestest, my favorite. Much love to ya, Debbie...

DRG 25th Anniversary Show Stopping Performances

I don't actually own this particular compilation, however, since I own nearly every recording represented on these discs...I think I'm qualified to comment. This is a wonderful representation of the high quality of work that DRG Records does.
The previous review is way off the mark. This is definitely not a waste of time or money. This is 25 years of preserving Broadway shows, Off-Broadway shows, studio recordings (mostly from the city center concerts), etc. So what if they "aren't as good as the original", DRG is preserving many recordings and artists that other mainstream labels don't or won't. You have wonderful recordings from Brian Stokes Mitchell, Nathan Lane, Debbie Gravitte, Tyne Daly, Anthony Perkins, Joanna Gleason, ... Read More:

Debbie Friedman at Carnegie Hall: Double CD set

This CD is one of Debbie Friedman's best. My children and I listen to it in the car often and especially on Fridays on the way to and from school getting ready for Shabbat and we all just love it. Our favorite is "Light These Lights." It is beautiful and moving as are all of the songs. By listening to these 2 CDs you feel as if you have gone to services and have prayed! If you are considering purchasing this CD, you will not be disappointed. It's wonderful!

This song is what I have been searching for for a long time. I remember this when I was a young girl singing in Temple and now that I'm a Believer in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, this song describes my feelings of love for him. The night I found this song , I just wept for joy and Praised God for bringing it to me.

I've been collecting Passover CDs. This is a favorite. I'm a fan of Debbie Friedman, and some of the songs in this collection are also found on some of her other CDs. But that's OK because they're good. I love to listen in the car and sing along. It doesn't take much to put me in the mood for Passover, but this is a great companion for the holiday.

This collection is the companion CD of a women's Haggadah for a women's seder. I haven't seen the haggadah, but it's not necessary for enjoying this CD.
