The music and songs are wonderful. I have this CD in my car and listen to it over and over. It is especially well done. I am enjoying every song the more I listen to them. "The Prayer" with Charlotte Church is one you can sing to.

I've been a David Benoit fan for many years and the man has never disappointed me musically. This album is no exception. From the funky, urban chord vamps and comps of "Why Not"; to the sweet, melodious jazz/classic rendering of "Something You Said"; to the 'Brubeckish' styled "Gothic Jazz Dance", this album has it all. As an amatuer jazz pianist myself, I am completely enraptured with David's articulate and rich chord stylings on just about every song that I have heard him play. David Benoit is simply superb,as usual. This is one of the CD's that I use to "decompress" with. Listening to Benoit just makes you feel good. I suggest you place your stereo in a quiet room,dim the lights,sit back with your significant other and a glass of Pino and enjoy.

Waiting for Spring

I was "introduced" to Benoit's work through the Peanuts specials (he took over the music on most of them after Vince Guaraldi's untimely death). I got this CD with no clear anticipation of anything, but after listening to it I became enthralled with it. Every song on it is just so perfect.

I still like Benoit, and have purchased several other CDs of his, but this one will always be my favorite. Maybe it's the picture on the front, but I especially enjoy listening to this one on a cold day!

Benoit/Freeman Project 2

Both David Benoit and Russ Freeman are excellent jazz musicians. And their first album in this project attests that they are great together. I was a bit disappointed in this recording. That "sparkle" that makes their jazz uplifting seems to be missing. While I would not hesitate to purchase this, I would do so with no high expectations.
