i enjoyed this c.d. not as spectacular as atlantis, more laid back and soothing. i own alot of arkenstone's music none of it has ever dissappointed me.
over all a good choice. i'm glad i own it.

I bought this CD/DVD combo because I've been a fan of Nicholas Gunn's music for several years. All of the pieces here are wonderful; my favorite appearances are from Gunn, of course, and Loren Gold. This New Age/World music is energizing and uplifting. Great for the car or anywhere, really. Seeing the artists perform on the DVD is a great bonus. While the "voice overs" at the beginning of each song were OK for the DVD, I wish they had not been included on the CD. But I'm not taking points off because this is just an awesome overall performance.

I am a huge fan of David Arkenstone...all of his music is great. This CD is especially relaxing while at work, or at the end of the day to unwind from pressures/stress. A nice supplement to the many CDs of his that I already have.

Myths and Legends

Glad I bought this used. The 3 disc set sounds nice but not really necessary. Disc 1 is music only. Disc 2 requires a second CD player and speaker, like a boom box. I don't know about other people, but I'm not inclined to go to the trouble to even listen to the second disc. Disc 3 is a DVD with nothing really genuinely worth watching.

The music has a few Arkenstone moments but nothing that we've not heard before; and, frankly I'm getting tired of the Celtic pieces - Arkenstone is much more creative than that.

Valley in the Clouds

I dunno, I myself wouldn't say this is a fantastic album. I say this mainly because of how it compares with his most famous: "The Spirit Wind". This album is good but a bit unfocused. It DOES have some good tracks on it--even some really catchy ones, but it takes more than a few gimmicky tunes alone to make a good new-age album. New age is supposed to simulate classical in many ways and must be focused and tell a story. This album misses the mark somehow.

I, at least, don't get a sense of what the artist is doing. Is he taking me on a journey into clouds? If so, I don't feel it. (Perhaps David Arkenstone thought of that title sporadically and at the last minute? Who knows?)
