The first song I ever heard by Damien Rice was Volcano and I fell in love. Volcano is an amazingly haunting song and sticks with you. Shortly afterwards I located his MySpace page and listened to songs from there which included songs from both 0 and 9 and fell even more in love.
I must say, Damien Rice has an amazing voice and beautiful lyrics. I would suggest this CD to everyone espcially if you're looking for music to just play in the background while working. The music is soft and even and isn't too distracting, but, as contradicting as this may sound, it's very memorable. There's no way I'll ever regret buying this CD.
Release Date November 14, 2006
Damien Rice's sophomore album is a stark contrast to 0. Whereas 0 featured soft lyrics and light melodies, 9 features faster beats and lyrics, including my favorite, "Rootless Tree" which has the F word frequently.
Unlike 0, 9 demands your attention and doesn't let it go until the last second of the last song. I strongly suggest this CD to everyone who likes Damien Rice and even those who don't.

Listening to this CD, I got the feeling Damien played in front of a small crowd in an intimate setting and all I can say is I'm extremely jealous. The songs and audio on the CD are great. My only real complaint is that it's too short.

Found it reminiscent of the 70's. Good stuff. Vendor was also good in getting product to me quickly and in great condition, as promised.

In October, 2007, "Live at Fingerprints Warts & All" was released, an 8 track live in-store performance, recorded in late 2006, and focusing equally on his "O" and "9" albums. Only a month later this release came out of the blue, another short live album.
"Live at Union Chapel" (8 tracks; 36 min.) was recorded in 2003 on the "O" tour, and hence focuses on that album, with 5 tracks: "Delicate", "The Blower's Daughter", a ferocious "Volcano", "Amie", and the traditional "Silent Night", an astounding a-capella version by vocalist Lisa Hannigan. The remainder songs on here are non-album tracks "Then Go" and "Baby Sister" and "Be My Husband". Let me be upfront and state unequivocally that this is a superb collection of songs: Damien Rice and his band ... Read More:

This is just the best Album I have bought, ever! I found this little jem just before xmas 03 and haven't stopped listening to it since. Today for example I've played the album twice, and that was all the way through without skipping a track. Scared of over playing it and getting sick of it??? No! There is too much talent and emotion in it just to be played and forgotten
There is a good and bad side to this Album, the good being that none of the songs apart from Cannonball get played on radio (BBC radio 2) The bad thing is none of the songs really get played on radio, so anyone I know who has heard of Damien Rice has found him through word of mouth, yeah me!
Damien blows them all out of the water for his song writing. The ... Read More:

Once you sample this album, you will want to own it... then it will be all that you want to hear, over and over and over again. Rice's entrancing, poetical, dramatic lyrics and music evoke powerful images and excite intense moods, as only real art can.
Release Date 2003
`Live From the Union Chapel' is a definite must have for any fan of Damien Rice, but even for those new to the brilliance that is this man the album will serve as a great introduction to the hype. Having personally seen this man live I can honestly say that this album brings back great memories, but it still does no justice to the real thing so I feel that I must state that if ever you have the opportunity to see him live please do take it up for his live show is just outstanding. This album captures beautifully the serene yet commanding atmosphere that is created at one of Rice's shows. Taking a few tracks from his debut album `O' and incorporating some rarely heard tracks `Live From the Union Chapel' is an orgasmic companion to Damien's other albums.
Release Date February 12, 2007
This is an absolute gem. You can feel the pain in the melody and brood over the lyrics. Another masterpiece by Damien Rice.
