Editorial Review:
Album Description: The most eagerly-anticipated bluegrass debut in recent memory, Dailey & Vincent introduces a powerful new ensemble steeped in bluegrass and country music traditions, but blessed with the drive, talent, and charisma to assert those timeless values proudly onto today's stage. Co-leaders Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent have already had a profound impact on much of the best modern bluegrass via their contributions to such estimable performers as Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. Stepping out on their own for the first time, Dailey & Vincent make breathtaking music that seamlessly connects country music's roots in brother duet singing to its future in exhilarating, full-throttle bluegrass - without ever sacrificing heart, sincerity, and soul.
"Even before one note of their stunning record had been heard, the pair earned a standing ovation at the 2007 International Bluegrass Music Association convention and were booked for more than 100 shows. Now that the album is here, the advance accolades are completely understandable. This is music that can stand side by side with any of the most revered bluegrass discs ever made." - from the liner notes by Robert K. Oermann

I learned of the album release on Sirius and bought it the 1st day it was out. All the cuts are great, but "More Than a Name on a Wall" and "By the Mark" are my favorites. As a military retiree, the emotions flow when I hear "More Than a Name".
I'd followed Jamie for years with Doyle Lawson and was sad when he left. Now, I'm so proud to know the great group he and Darrin have put together. I had the opportunity to hear them live and speak to both of them in August. They've only just begun.
Count 'em... ten (10) IBMA nominations including:
Album of the Year
Song of the Year (for "By the Mark")
Song of the Year (for "More Than a Name on a Wall")

The playing is great and the harmonies are tight so why 2 stars? It's the choice of material, unfortunately. About half the cuts are that same old syrupy, hokey gospel that everyone does, and the rest is a homage to the past which is ok; but bluegrass can be much more that that. It's ok for 21th century bluegrass musicians to do contemporary material.

Wow! I knew this was going to be a good recording. NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. I've kept up with Mr. Dailey all the years he was with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver and he learned from what in my opinion is the master of harmony and instrumental excellence. I look forward to many years of Dailey and Vincent and wish them well in all their endeavors. Thanks guys for an excellent CD.

Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, both veterans of years working with big-name bluegrass bands, have now teamed up to form a band of their own and have recently released their first album, the self-titled Dailey & Vincent. Dailey is best known for the nine years he spent with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, the band he left in August 2007. Vincent, brother of Rhonda Vincent, got his start performing with his family's band, The Sally Mountain Show, and has worked with the biggest names in bluegrass and country music in recent years.
If Dailey & Vincent is any indication, these guys have a very bright future in bluegrass music. What makes this album, a mix of traditional bluegrass and gospel music with a little country ... Read More:

This CD lives up to all expectations. The vocals are highly inventive and very satisfying. Gives me goose bumps!
