Discovery is the OK Computer of House music. Instantly and consistently transcending that genre, offering quite simply the closest thing to urban-middle-class-party-and-after-party-experience-via-compressed-audio to date. Admittedly I can see the case being made for a weaker second side, but it is seems more a matter of sequencing since nearly every minute of this hour length future-flow brims with signature studio mastery.

and surprisingly, the live crowd didn't ruin the entire recording as typically happens. I think everyone was so amazed to even see them. This set is definitely worth the purchase. You can feel the energy in the music and it sounds like everyone there had a good time. I'm kinda jealous.

I've been wasting a lot of money recently purchasing albums that I wouldn't normally listen to,but that have been rated five stars in various music review books that I own and,for the most part,while I don't think that any of my recent purchases merits five stars,I know that this one definitely doesn't.It easily qualifies as the worst trash that I've ever heard and,believe me,I listen to and enjoy a lot of different kinds of music from the 1930s to today.This is certanly not music;all it is is out and out noise.The critics actually prefer this to Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music"(which,admittedly,I haven't heard either,but it can't be much worse)?As the title of my review states,this CD is bad for your stereo(the constant,loud bass beats could ... It's has nothing on Discovery, but it's a pretty cool little album in its own right. My personal favorites are "Human After All," "The Prime Time of Your Life," "Make Love," "Technologic," and "Emotion."

Daft Punk is a duo of Paris electronica geniuses, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, and their rave music is an innovative fusion of techno, house, acid house and electronica styles. In their live performances, the futuristic French duo are known to dress as robots. It is hard to resist the urge to dance to the infectious grooves of Daft Punk. If you bought Discovery when it first came out you could get 13 of the 14 tracks as free downloads using the included credit card looking code card to access the daft club website that was up then.

I don't think most of these remixes are worth more than the price I paid, that being the time it took to download them for free.

Very intense live album.
Hits you hard and fast, you don't have to be a fan of electronica to enjoy this. If you are a fan of daft punk you need to pick this up, to prepare for the mind-blowing sequal ALIVE 2007.

This Cd is just a collect of some of the most popular Daft Punk songs, if you already have Homework, Discovery, and Human After All then you have all the songs on this Cd. But I didn't buy this for the Cd, it also came with a special DVD which contains the music videos for Human after all so and those were great. So if you want to try to get a friend into Daft Punk pick this up as a Sampler or if you want to complete your Daft Punk collection get I really love this

One More Time

The song "One More Time" was introduced to me (strangely) when I was watching an MTV2 commercial for their upcoming videos. I saw this anime music video for about 5 seconds, and I instantly called up my local radio station to find out the name of the song and the band's name too. And three weeks later (after extensive research of where the Discovery album was being sold) I finally bought the CD. I now have all of the Daft Punk albums, including all of the imported singles and the newest album. THis band is one of the best Techno-pop bands EVER!
