Varèse Sarabande - A 30th Anniversary Celebration

The two previous "25th anniversary celebrations" from Varèse Sarabande are a must in any music library, not to mention if one likes cinema music (the real contemporary symphonic music, in my opinion). I was a little reluctant about this one at first, as it covers a very short time span (only five years), and many of the movies are unheard of...at least for me (I do confess I have disappointedly abandoned Western cinema for Far East one for quite some time now). However, the quality of the music is simply breathtaking. Virtually every track is worth to be listend to attentively. Pure musical enjoyment. Get it while supply lasts!!

I wasn't expecting to have 4 discs for this price, and the music is a quality selection of film music, giving a good scope of the genre, and a very listenable transfer.

The Magnificent Westerns

These CD's are are constant companions that I listen to on my way to work in the morning...Nic Raine and his orchestra do a superb job rendering the themes, but some of the vocals, especially the one for Rawhide, make me yearn for the originals. All in all, it's a great set, definetely worth the money for a 40-50something baby boomer.

Music for the Movies of Clint Eastwood

I think this cd has most of the best clint eastwood movie themes. However, some of the best instrumentals are not included like the theme from million dollar baby; I still strongly recommend this cd for those who love movie classicals or themes that has an effect of calming the mind.

Breathe: Relaxing Music from the Movies

This is one fantastic CD! It IS relaxing and the selections are beautiful! I'm going to buy 2 more for gifts for Christmas. My favorites are 1. The theme from Ghost, Unchained Melody, one of the most beautiful versions of that song, 2. A River Runs Through It, and 3. the theme from Piano. But ALL the selections are great!
