I just returned from 3 fantastic days in PARIS. I enjoyed the Claude Bolling band at the the MERIDIEN HOTEL, a very elegant new 5 star hotel in Port Malliot. Easy access, on the main line subway #1. I enjoyed 3 nights of the Bolling band at the famous LIONEL HAMPTON JAZZ CLUB at the MERIDIEN. They played all the great big band tunes. Fantastic saxaphones, (3 kinds), about 4 trumpets, 4 or 5 trombones, a stand up bass, a guitar, drummer, and Claude on the Baby Grand Piano. Several sax players also played excellent flute and clarinet! The Lionel Hampton Club is a great place! Reasonable cover charge. Your 1st drink is double price. Elegant lounge!
