Let Yourself Go

by: Kristin Chenoweth, Jule Styne, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Jeanine Tesori, Kurt Weill, Jerome Kern, Vincent Youmans, Ricky Ian Gordon, Richard Dworsky, Lawrence Ellington Duke / Brown, Harry Warren, Bobby Troup, Jason Alexander, Irving Berlin, Rob Fisher, The Coffee Club Orchestra

Release Date May 29, 2001
The first time I saw Kristin Chenoweth in a movie was the TV "Music Man". Just lately I listened to the "Wicked" soundtrack, and after that, I've been listening to Kristin's CDs whenever I can. This one is a jazzy, Broadway-type CD with fun, engaging songs. She's a different type of singer, and while not everyone might enjoy her voice, I really do. If you like Broadway, jazz, drama, romance, or just fun, catchy songs, this is a CD for you.

Sings Troup, Mercer & More

by: Bobby Troup

Release Date July 03, 2006
It's like tasting tabasco - you will not quite believe it - as all of your senses will go into overload. But in a good way. You will also wonder how you've managed to live as long as you have without being a Trouper.

Jens Lindemann: Flying Solo

by: Eden Ahbez, Alexander Arutiunian, Samuel Barber, Fryderyk Chopin, Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Percy Grainger, Jeno Hubay, Jens Lindemann, Franz Liszt, Fernando J. Obradors, Rob Parisi, Bobby Troup, Thomas (Fats) Waller, Clarence Williams, Brad Ellis, Jennifer Snow

Release Date June 24, 2003
Lindemann's musicality, technique, and showmanship is evident
here on a very high level. Of particular interest is
his very effective use of plunger to subtly modify his sound.
The Gershwin preludes are especially entertaining. He uses
the extreme high high register a bit more frequently than
I would wish, but with high range this strong, it's easy to
see why he would want to use it.

This is, overall, extremely musical playing. Minor quibbles
can be made about intonation in some spots, but the listener
will forgive these when the playing is so infectious and
the tone so fine. I found myself laughing on occasion because
I was having so much fun listening to what the artist ... Read More:

CD-Charts Music : Pete 'n' Keely (Original Cast Recording)

Pete 'n' Keely (Original Cast Recording)

by: James Hindman, Sally Mayes, George Dvorsky

Release Date December 04, 2001
I lent my copy of Pete 'n' Keely to a friend. When she returned my CD, she said that it was perfect. I agree. Many of the songs are an enjoyable trip down memory lane that brings back many fond memories. The new songs by Patrick Brady and Mark Waldropfit right in. Sally Mayes does the best rendition of "Black Coffee" that I have ever heard.Goerge Dvorsky's Fever" is also fantastic. It is not unusual for me to be sitting at my desk at work and have one of the songs run through my memory. That isd without any music in the background. My friends who have heard me play the CD have purchased a copy for themselves, they liked the CD so much.

CD-Charts Music : The Feeling of Jazz

The Feeling of Jazz

by: Bobby Troup

Release Date November 01, 1994
An important player in the West Coast Jazz scene of the '50's and '60's, singer/songwriter Bobby Troup is heard performing some of his best quartet and small band work in Hollywood and New York jazz clubs in these 21 tracks. Backed by such jazz legends as Herb Ellis, Bucky Pizzarelli, Bob Enevoldsen and Grady Tate, Troup's stylized club vocals and cool personality are showcased in a way that still sounds fresh and contemporary. These recordings of performances from 1955 to 1967 include 13 songs written or co-written by Bobby Troup, which is why I find the album such a gem. Included are "The Feeling of Jazz" (co-written with Duke Ellington and George Simon), the standard "Girl Talk" (co-written with Neal Hefti), and Troup classics ... Read More:
