This album literally lives in my car CD player. It is one of the best collection of Bobby Darin songs (hits and other songs) found on one CD, and I never tire of it.
I must admit, my favorites are the "swingers", "On The Street Where You Live", "Once In A Lifetime", "More", "Charade" , but I am also fond of "Call Me Irresponsible", "The Good Life", "If I Were A Carpenter" and "Softly As I Leave You". To be honest, I never cared very much for his "teeny bopper" songs such as "If A Man Answers" which is found on this album. And, as one of the few Bobby Darin fans who dislikes "Splish Splash", I am glad that song is featured in a medley of other songs. But including these songs only proves how well this collection showcases the versatility of Bobby ... Read More:

Before jumbotrons and expensive fireworks displays were the basis of a great live show, all that was needed for a great concert was true talent and an intimate connection with your audience. Bobby Darin had both of these, and this 1960 show is proof.
From start to finish, "Darin At The Copa" is absolutely excellent. Though he had been around for a mere two years, Darin was already proving his versatility as an artist, going from teenybopper sensation to sophisticated adult pop crooner in less than two years. Both sides of Bobby are on full display, as he punches out 14 classic performances with the precision and skill of a prized fighter.
The show's setlist is an eclectic mix of Bobby's biggest hits ("Mack The Knife," "Dream Lover"), ... Read More:

The best ever collection of Bobby Darin's music. The sound quality is good, though you can tell it's from old recordings, and it spans his entire career. While it's missing one or two of my favorites, it's definitely worth buying, whether your a new fan like me, or a fan from way back.
Release Date June 08, 1999
This second volume of the Ultra Lounge: Wild, Cool & Swingin' Artist CD Series has a terrific assortment of hits and ballads by the immortal Bobby Darin. This warmed my heart as I am a huge fan of Bobby's. The sound is excellent--and how's about that artwork?
"As Long As I'm Singing" has a big band arrangement to accompany Bobby's vocals; he never misses a beat and he never sounded better either! Bobby's excellent diction bolsters his performance. "There's A Rainbow `Round My Shoulder" places Bobby's vocals squarely in the spotlight; Bobby croons this like so few ever could; and the arrangement for the brass is elegant. Bobby delivers this tune with great sensitivity and I really like "There's A Rainbow `Round My Shoulder." Moreover, Bobby makes ... Read More:

Bobby Darin was music's most underrated performer. With the exception of Frank Sinatra, no one could dig into the soul of a song like him. He could take any song, either a swinger or a ballad, and make it his own, no matter who else recorded it. His versatility as a general performer was equally impressive, as he was an accomplsiehd musician, songwriter, dancer, actor, coemdian and impressionist. Almost all of these attributes are evident on this two disc set, one cd and one dvd.
The cd includes various performances from tv specials Bobby Darin did in the 1960s' and 21970s' with a few rarities thrown in. A good portion of them are covers of major hits of the day, among them a swingin' take on "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You," Neil Diamond's "Song Sung Blue," ... Read More:

Loved this CD - had it on tape but needed CD - especially loved "Artificial Flowers" one of the most beautiful songs. Bobby Darin rocks.

The Swinging Side of Bobby Darin showcases Bobby's excellent skills as a born natural entertainer. When Bobby delivered a song he put all his heart and soul into his performance; and it shows every step of the way. The sound quality on this CD is good; and the artwork is great!
The CD starts with Bobby singing "I Got Rhythm;" this incredible Gershwin number features a big band style arrangement and Bobby swings brightly as he sings this to perfection! Bobby Darin's excellent diction bolsters his performance all the more, too. "I'm Beginning To See The Light" puts Bobby's strong vocals squarely in the spotlight and he sounds better than ever on this tune! Bobby really impresses me with this song and I really like "I'm Beginning To See The Light."
