Where has this band been all my life? Just discovered them when I bought this CD. And I'm loving it! Now, I'm busy adding the rest of their albums to my music collection. I can't get enough of this band - their sound is so hypnotic and sensual. There is not one bad song on this CD. I especially like "Strange Times" and "I Got Mine." Buy this album - you will not be disappointed.

Rubber Factory

I learned about The Black Keys 6 months ago and started with their debut album and bought everything except their latest to date. If I was going to recommend an album to start with, it would be Rubber Factory. I am a big fan of the White Stripes, and hearing these guys played as a two piece intrigued me. They have surpassed my expectations.

The music is raw blues, with some rocking riffing tunes stuck in. This CD has been on heavy rotation in my house and truck ever since. Thickfreakness is also very solid, I can't get "Midnight in Her Eyes" out of my head - but that's ok.

I'm a bit slow at discovering the Black Keys but I LOVE THEM since I did discover them! This is the best band to come along since Nirvana. Magic Potion was my first Keys purchase and I didn't think I could possibly love anything better by this band but man, I WAS WRONG! This CD ROCKS! Not a bad song on here!

It's not traditional Blues but It's sweet and catchy.
Very talented duo.

I don't read or write reviews, but this is beyond music. I made the mistake of listening to this on my I-pod at work and the trance-like state it produced was detrimental to my daily corporate productivity. I closed my office door and pretended to be hard at work and listened to this album from start to finish continuously for 8 hours. I wept during "Meet me in the City" on the third and fourth listens and was emotionally spent and drained by the end of the day. This takes human pain and suffering and longing and even joy; things that are usually inutterable and inexpressible and puts them into music. Junior had something inside him and music was the only way he could get to it and bring out. Thank God for Junior and The Black Keys.

The Moan

I'm kind of surprised more people haven't reviewed this EP. "The Moan" aside from "Busted" is my favorite of all TBK songs. The main riff sounds like a take off of Howlin' Wolf's "Moanin at Midnight". The middle of the song is Carney at his best and Dan ripping it up with variations of the great blues riff. This song alone makes this EP worth buying. I also really enjoy the fast paced new version of "Have Love Will Travel". This song was already a good one from their album "Thickfreakness" but it's made even better here. The Keys have another reprint on this album "Heavy Soul". I like the song but I wish they would have written a new one or put one of their unreleased songs in place of heavy soul. I don't see the need for a 4 song EP to feature two songs previouse released.
