Good amount of songs like 1999 Spaceclub, W.E.E.K.E.N.D., Milano Cool, New Day, both Zona Sul mixes and Spacebeach. These song make this album worth getting. I hope they stick to music like these songs here and not jump off too far into the just plain weird.

I expected so much more from these guys...it seems they work better with a concept, like the brilliant "Music for Imaginary Films." Hi-Fi Underground, though it had a promising-sounding title, is an album of banal, boring dance music. I got the idea that they were ironically trying to make fun of terrible dance music, but just ended up making a really mind-numbingly stupid album full of repetetive tracks with inane lyrics. I was deeply disappointed. Go back to what you do best--zany conceptual music!

Think of the German synth duo Yello from the 80's on speed for the late 90's. You get the gist. While this disc has been called everything from an artistic kitschy feat to a...beverage coaster by other reviewers, you can be sure it is anything but dull or mundane. The tracks are very much in the musical techno vein of Euro-Japanese dance music with a 60's retro lounge throwback sound. While it's not exactly Moby or ATB (which many still question ATB's popularity) it's a casual groovy listen. It doesn't break any new techno or ambience territory, but hey, neither did disco...In a few years, even this recording will sound dated and by then who knows what the latest club trend sounds will be...Enjoy it for the moment...

In truth I gave 4 stars to 2 songs on it that I've loved since 2001 and thats Sunday and Ocean Drive. I hate to admit but the rest is nothing to write home about. I think they would do much better sticking to morden jazzy lounge music like these 2 songs.

Another fun release by the Dutch Duo. Very unique sounds, everything from horse neighs, to eating chips, to taxi horns...they've included it all and oddly enough, it works. "Bad Dream" is a catchy lil' tune that I liked immediately (and Liesbeth Esselink of Solex contributes vocals so that's cool). I can't decide if "Cowboy Ska" is really good or really annoying, but if nothing else, it's creative (horse neighing and such), but my favorite of all tracks is "Tokyo Taxi Robot" because it's just plain COOL. It reminds me of "Rubber Car" by Enon, but not near as dark and gothic-like. To sum it all up, this LP will make you want to dance so if you like dancing, go for it.
