In spite of Arcade Fire's ubiquitous presence in the indie music press over the past few years and after the release of one EP/two LP's, I somehow remained unexposed to their music. In fact, the only thing I had really heard was their cover of Yeah Yeah Yeahs's "Maps" from 2005. I had read about their music here and there but never felt compelled enough to seek them out. Recently I noticed they were playing on Austin City Limits, which I often watch, so I thought it was a good opportunity to check them out.
