Back to black is so brilliant musically, both Amy's songs and her performance of them. The only weak spot is the use of needlessly explicit lyrics, for example in Me and Mr. Jones, "mockery" would have been so much more timeless than "f-ckery", and really would have made as much or more sense. The needless use of the f word grates a bit, and simply makes it impossible to play this song in public or in front of most audiences, and it's such a shame not to be able to play this musically brilliant song for one's kids.

First heard Amy Winehouse soon after Back to Black was released, and before all of the publicized issues. I was blown away by this vocal talent. It is too bad that once again the business, or the fame, or the boy friend has polluted this amazing artist.
Then I heard Frank. Much better vocally than BTB. Pure and uninfected. I just hope for her that she can get through her problems and continue to entertain us for years to come.

I have been so amazed with Amy Winehouse's voice. I love the music, totally 60's meandering through the CD. She may have her problems and she does need to get over that if she really wants to keep up the wonderful work of her music, but to listen to her sing you are transported to those 60's thoughts.

Now, my parents made me buy the CLEAN version and really that's the only downside to this album: the clean. The explicit is so exciting and good it's so awesome. Anyways, Amy is an amazing artist and the songs are so catchy and good, I can't stop listening.

The only other problem with the album which is not that big of a deal is that every track is depressing. There isn't anything about getting together, it's all about breaking up and cheating and drugs. But the thing the depressingness so "not so big" is that they were all written from her heart and what she believes in.

An amazing album by an amazing singer. The beat to the songs go so great with her voice and it makes the songs sound great.

If you're not familiar with the background and story of Amy then this is an ideal item - there are no books about her yet available [im sure there will be soon] and this certainly fills the gap. Seems shes had a fascinating life so far, and this has interviews with her on it too giving her own version of events. Of course it doesn't have her music on - the other reviewer here who says they thought it was her new album is either blind [it says it's a spoken word biography in the description]or can't read [in which case this would be an ideal item for him] . As for the one who complains tha the interviews with Amy are in a south london drawl - well what does he expect being that that's wehere she's from - perhaps he would like her to adopt a New York dialect just for him
