I got the vinyl of this one years ago and never thought as time went on that this one would stand the test of time but it did! When "Horse With No Name" came out I really thought it was another Neil Young follow-up to "Heart Of Gold". Well, they had a few singles off this album, another being "I Need You" and had a gold album. The CD is great even today and highly recommend it as well as seeing them "Live" which I did a few years back. visit my website "Judemac Forever" google it and say "Hi". One other side note, the songs pulled off this one for the America Greatest Hits collection in the 1970's were remixed by George Martin of Beatles fame.

This collection has all the standards, and a few "hard-to-find" ones. These are all well done. I used them recently during our church's senior adult program to honor our vets.

This was a must have album when it was released in 1975. It was a big hit (peaking at number 3 on the Billboard album chart) and was one of the biggest selling albums of the 70's, selling more than 5 million copies. Every song on here is good and was a hit, however this collection has become obsolete since the release of America's Complete Greatest Hits. Every song on this CD is on Complete Greatest Hits, plus 10 more songs.

The only reason to buy this CD is to get the George Martin remixes of their early hits. Legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin did not start producing America's music until their 4th album "Holiday". Homecoming

Growing up in the 60's and 70's I naturally gravitated to the folk rock genre. From groups like the Eagles, Byrds,and Dan Fogelberg I always found solitude in the music. America was no different. Their unique accoustic style and three part harmonies would always take you away. I would also highly recomend America (the first album).

My mother's a Second Grade Teacher, and her co-worker gave us this tape called Trout Fishing in America: Big Trouble, and she said that my brother (5), sister(3) and I (8), would absolutely LOVE IT! So my mom took the tape, picked us kids up, and put it into the tape player...well her co-worker didn't get the tape back we LOVED IT! My favorite song was the Teddy Bear's Picnic because I would run around the room with my Teddy Bear, and sing the song. The Window song was our favorite too, and we would get in trouble at school for singing it because it wasn't nice! Great Times!
