Mr. Green has a sensual style that seems to be sadly missing in much of todays music. His voice blends well with romantic ballads. "Lets Stay Together," was one of the best songs of the 1970's. "Take Me By The Hand, & Lay Your Head On My Pillow," also have their own distinctive appeal depending on ones mood. These songs have a smooth pleasant feel of a less hurried era, when you need a lift stop here & listen.

Although I was not pleased with all the songs on this recording, the ones I wanted was there. Brought back memories galore. I recommend it .

I love Al Green. The title of this CD is The Absolute Best, and although I think its very good, I just wouldnt call it the "Absolute Best". They could've enhanced the sound quality because the music sounded a bit dated, low & muted. However, with that being said...if you like Al Green, you'll like this... I just dont think it was the Absolute Best. Maybe because of how the songs were arranged.

This is one of Al greens best albums he ever did.I used to have the original CD but I decided to get the new remastered version, and boy was I shocked the sound qualitiy is not good at all the highs are very muffled and the songs that fade out are faded out faster. So don,t get this version get the original it only has 2 less songs but the sound is A lot better and it is cheaper.

The first three discs were only OK. I had forgotten how much better the later Broadway musical recordings were. The last two discs were very good, maybe because I could relate better to the shows or perhaps the productions were better.
Release Date June 16, 1998
Do you remember watching "Chico and The Man"? Do you remember when the Colts were in Baltimore and the Orioles were famous for Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer and Earl Weaver instead of Cal Ripken? How about Chevy Vans with Shag Carpets with murals painted along the side? If so YOU MUST PICK UP THIS BOX SET! Rhino has done a fantastic job compiling 7 CD's worth of memories from the "ME" decade. Journey back to a time when AM Radio (that's right...AM Radio) featured hits by Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton, mixed with hits from Motown artists like Stevie Wonder and James Brown...and throw in a dash of Disco for flavor. A time when music wasn't so fragmented, a time when there really was Top 40 radio. Sure some of the songs in this set are goofy, and will make you roll ... Read More:
