Parecía imposible superar "Higway to hell", pero "Back in black" es la cima no sólo de la banda, sino de todo un género músical: el heavy metal nunca volverá a significar lo mismo que en la década de los ochenta. Being a rock guitar freak of two decades' standing, it is with acute embarrassment that I confess to only having heard this record right through for the first time in my 39th year.

Clearly I went to the wrong school and hung out with the wrong, self conscious types, and stupidly we looked askance at this bogan rock. More fool us.

What a remarkable, single minded, self-assured, exuberant record this is, and what a master stroke for a bunch of scot-inflected teenaged Aussies to have settled on such a perceptively observed formula and executed on it so flawlessly (and stuck with it for the thirty years since!). "Highway To Hell" would be the album that put AC/DC on the map in the U.S., but would also be the last for lead singer Bon Scott who would die of alcohol poisoning shortly after the album's release. Scott always harnessed a playful nod and a wink sense of humor in his lyrics and vocals that would raise the level of the material up a few notches. You never got the feeling that he was taking himself too seriously. Musically in many ways AC/DC sticks to their patented formula, but on this album everything works very nicely. The title track became the band's first legit hit in the U.S. and remains one of the most famous classic rock guitar riffs to this day. Jammin on Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. (Goes Good with Ice Cold Beer) Thanx Pepsi and Amazon, for bringing back so many good rockin memories (You wouldn't believe how many dumpsters I pick through looking for points, hope I don't get hepatitus or something like that, but a cat has to do what they gotta do, Yeah!) The 70's when rock was rock. Gonna get High Voltage next. Would be nice if you had the rest of the bands Killer albums. If you are a person looking for classic rock music. This is one of those albums to look for. It is not one of their big albums, it is often overlooked. But every song on this record is great. ROCK N ROLL DAMNATION is the title track and a great song to jam to. There is very excellent guitar solo on GONE SHOOTIN, and another great guitar solo is on RIFF RAFF. a great song to drive in your car and drive around in is GIMME A BULLET. I strongly recommend to buy this one. Even if you are not that big on AC/DC

Get this album, this is their 2nd live album and first with brian johnson. Brian is very good live. He even does a better job than bon scott. Brian is much better at singing Highway to hell. You can also consider it as a greatest hit album, a lot of their singles are on here but they are live. Also, to let you know this is a double cd, they have 2 different sets. A double which is this one and they have a standard one set cd

Who Made Who

I missed out on a few ACDC albums on the Phase 1,2 and 3 releases, and this was one of I think three.Even with only Three new items from the Boys, its very worth it !!It rocks, and also it has a nice soft side ( Ride on) which makes it a listening pleasure ( as with all ACDC albums).
I was hoping that the Disc would have extra video material on the Disc, but with this Connect-D disc, the pluses are, the Booklet, the packaging, and the extras you can get when you connect to the web side and see the Video for Who made Who, the Photos, Audio with Angus and Stephen King, and etc. A real treasure trove. My only wish is that they would make the material on the website available on a disc at some stage, just in case it "disappears" at some stage.
