This movie is a classic. To upgrade it to blu-ray was a brilliant idea by Disney. The graphics and colors are vibrant and stunning. But what put me over the top to buy it was the addition of the standard DVD with it. This made it a must buy since most people with young children have a grandma and grandpa or DVD system in the car that doesn't exactly have a blu-ray player in it. More companies need to think about adding in the standard version with the blu-ray version, especially with older movies so they can be watched anywhere.

Though there have been some exceptional movies so far this year there but there have been few which I would call a classic. With WALL-E, things have just changed. WALL-E isn't only the best film of 2008 so far, it is a pure masterpiece. From start to finish, the film wraps you in utterly delightful charm and humanity. From the very beginning, Kung Fu Panda had me practically falling out of my seat --- laughing. It was the perfect blend of comedy, heart, and action, all necessary elements in a successful and great animation/CGI film, in the tradition of The Incredibles and (less action, but containing the heart and laughter) Ratatouille, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.

I was laughing, smiling, and guffawing at Po, the main protagonist (voiced by Jack Black) and his misadventures at becoming a Kung Fu expert. This was certainly a flawed character, one that a lot of people can relate to because he dreams, he's funny, and he can laugh at himself. Mairead Nesbitt, of Celtic Woman, plays in 22 of the 24 musical tracks on this DVD. She worked with Joel McNeely, who composed all, on all the tracks. Mairead is the fiddler/violinist for Celtic Woman. She did many solos and did the reel for the song "Sprinting Thistles." Mairead works perfection into all of her pieces and I am sure anyone who acquires this DVD will thoroughly enjoy not only the movie, but also and especially Mairead's playing. She plays elegantly with a fantastic orchestra also.

I read all the reviews and i think it's a pitty to make a negativ comment on this movie. It's wonderful. I really enjoyed it and isolated myself from the real world.
the movie is made very good. As always, they created the most enjoying music, the way it suits Ariel!

I would really recommend this movie!!!

Walt said that the animation of Cinderella's dress changing with the wave of the Fairy Godmother's Wand was his favorite piece of animation of all.. I couldn't agree more. It is absolutely sparkling, glittery, magical fun. This movie holds up so well... we enjoy it over and again and it never occurs to me (or my children) that it is well over 50 years old. The story is timeless, the music is charming and we're absolutely wild about Jaq and Gus!

The bonus features on this DVD are okay. The background/history was interesting. Otherwise, I was unimprssed with the bonus music, etc. But then, bonus features for older movies are rarely terrific because the original cast / staff is typically unavailable for interview.
