I've wanted to get the CD not the DVD. Buyer's mistake. I decided to keep it because I like Michael Jackson. I'm sure this DVD will do it justice, so I decided to keep it.

For fantasy movie fans this one is a big winner. It's Merlin's story, told in retrospect by the old necromancer himself.
The casting is near perfect, the scenery and sets are superb, the cinematography is terrific, and the story continuity is quite coherent, (the latter of which is a big problem in the subsequent "Merlin's Apprentice").
Merlin is "all good" in a time and place where nefarious scoundrels in leadership abound. He doesn't always immediately seize upon the right answers to various dillemmas as they arise but he's always first devoted to the wellness of mankind, frequently advising his "masters" to cease on the power-monging thing.
The evil witch, a nemesis of Merlin and of mankind in general, ... Read More:

I like Native American culture. I read the reviews for Dreamkeeper and I bought the movie. I have spent time on both the Pineridge and Rosebud Reservations. The movie for the most part correctly portrays the poverty on the rez. The graphic way of telling the Native Stories was great to watch.Dreamkeeper

Having trod many a dusty path across lots of (old quarter) Silk Road cities and landscapes from Middle China to the Middle East, this Hallmark film really (and unexpectedly) receives my 5 stars without hesitation (both for adults'! and children's viewing alike).
It primarily conveys to me a genuine feeling of bygone settlements in this vast region (allowing for the romance of storytelling then and now - the original storybook itself is the result of "hand-traded tales" over centuries from one caravanserai to the next, becoming contorted and glorious as storytellers added their unique cultural bits...), has great costumes and quite a few scenic landscapes (-rather than tacky Hollywood studio "sets"), gripping and comedic plots, convincing ... I'll admit that I was at first only a reluctant fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons back in the late 80's and early 90's, if for no other reason than I was pretty much forced to watch it by the simple fact that my brother and sister both watched it while they babysat me. But as time got on I did grow to genuinely enjoy the series. I mean, who can watch the show and not laugh at the bumbling antics of Shredder and his goons as they try to gain the advantage against the turtles? So when I heard that a TMNT movie was in the works (it came out as I recall in the summer of my tenth year back in 1990), I was at least willing to give it a whirl.
It should be noted that in quite a few important ways the movie is as unlike to the cartoon as night ... Read More:

Rat is a strange but extremely clever film. Both Imelda Staunton and Pete Postlethwaite give hilarious performances only to be outdone by a very talented rodent. Touching at times to even out the laughs. I enjoyed Rat immensely.

This movie is totally unlike all of the other Pinocchio movies I have ever seen. It didn't follow the Pinocchio theme and wasn't really about honesty. If you like the story of Pinocchio, the original version is the best.
