Grindhouse was originally released in theatres as a nostalgic look at the matinée style movies of the Grindhouse theatres. These movie theatres would usually display 1, 2 or even 3 movies in a row. The movies were relatively low budget in exchange for high levels of advertising. Both Tarrantino and Rodriguez have spoken of their love for the Grindhouse theatres as kids. They both set about to make two separate movies that would be shown in succession, but in between would feature commercials for further fictional movies. Taking place in a hotel this movie is about Ted the bell boys experience working alone on New Years Eve with four different rooms occupied by some rather eccentric guests, each room directed by a different director.

I wont go into a description of each room, its been done a few times already but I must admit the first two rooms were moderately funny if not slightly boring but if your like me dont let it discourage you give the movie a chance. The last two rooms are in my opinion worth the wait completely, in fact I went out and bought the dvd after renting it because of them, movies dont often make me cry from laughter. Okay, I think at this point you get the idea of how bad this movie is, but i'll be even more specific.
Think of the worst possible thing that ever happened in your life, then try to compare that to the second worst thing in your life.
Now after you've done that, add 2 kids, that thnk they can act, a few adults that can but don't, then top that off with (spoiler, Which is an oxymoron), the main evil bad guy (Sly Stallone) ends up turning good.
wow.
If it was possible to go negative stars, that might improve it.
Save your money or just flush it in the toliet, that would be better spent

This is a great movie the one thing you should be aware of is that it does not come with the 3D glasses and you have to have specific glasses for the movie which they do give you the phone number to order them but my son was disappointed when the movie came and then had wait to see it in 3d and was a hassell for me as well.

*Lots of good action scenes.
*Very excellent, solid filming style and quality. A vast improvement over its predecessor "El Mariachi."
*Not a bad story.
*It's well written.
*Not bad characters. Maybe not as good or memorable as "El Mariachi," but they are fun.

The Bad Things

The Questionable Things
*A fair amount of absurdity. Some may like it, others won't.

This sequel to is a tremendous improvement over "El Mariachi" in terms of style, action, cameramanship, and overall quality. Only the story and characters seem superior in the predecessor, but are still fun in "Desperado." Anybody who enjoys action films should enjoy this.

For a very low-budget film, this is very well-made. Even though it has very grainy picture quality, the filming style is very excellent. It is a simple but great story filled with great action scenes and great characters. It is entirely in Spanish with English subtitles, and includes a commentary track, a short film, and a making-of featurette.

With a higher budget, this film surpasses its predessor both in quality and in style. It has excellent image and sound quality. There are loads of slick action scenes.
