What do you get when you copy "My Best Friend's Wedding," take out all of the joy and originality, add in senseless sex jokes, crass story telling, unoriginal plot points and horrible shoddy filming as well as a thrown-together-cast of actors who seem to not tell where they are? Well, you get "Made of Honor."
Not only did this movie let my wife and me down, it offended, it ridiculed and it made us feel like we were foolish as a public, that we would lap up whatever drivel they threw together.
I'm sorry to say that Dempsey's charm couldn't save this train wreck of a movie. Did I mention how unfunny and unoriginal it was?

I remember watching "The Luck Child" over and over on VHS after recording it from TV when I was young and the series had just been released. As a HUGE fantasy fan it was all I could ask for. Many years later, long after the tape had been lost and DVDs had become the commonplace I had never forgot the joy this series had brought me in my youth and after much research found this DVD. This disc is NOT for the people who are looking for flawless animatronics or modern CGI technology... however, if you want delightful stories of myth and fantasy that are told by a witty storyteller and his "fearless" dog by the hearth then buy this today!!

I saw this movie when I was younger and it used to scare me. The scenes when the guy comes up on the screen in the library got me every time. I love Jon Lovitz, too. He is perfect for the role. This movie makes me wanna go searching for....GOOOOOOOOOOLD

I remember growing up reading many of the most famous Greek and Roman myths in my Junior Classics set. As a parent I am always leary of how film makers put out stories like this, as to whether my kids are old enough or will be frightened. Because this collection of short films has the puppeteer style technology, instead of computer generated images, it is perfect because my kids aren't overwhelmed by scary, overly done, and too real graphics. And they aren't picky about the perfection of TV images, so they love the characters. They even like the minotaur, who is a little scary. But their favorite story is that of Icarus. This has been a perfect family video and is introducing my kids to the Greek myths.

Haha. That's just a joke. There is only part 6. That was supposed to be a joke too. Now you don't know about this movie because there was actually a cover-up initiated by The Cos himself because he was so embarrassed about it!
After you sit through the painful, hand drawn credit-sequence you get to watch the only part of the film worth watching! This is extremely handy because you now no longer have to watch the rest of the movie. They were nice enough to put the funniest parts of the film, spliced together at the beginning of the film for us! In a split second we see: a tank car soaring through the air, Cos in a spacesuit dancing ballet w/ pink ballet slippers, and Cos in a janitor's uniform riding an ostrich through a roaring ball ... I LOVE this movie and looked for it on VHS and DVD for quite awhile before it was available on Amazon, and while it's just as funny as I remembered, the picture quality of this DVD is terrible. The company that produced it should have tried to get a better-quality source video---there must be one out there because the picture quality was not this bad when I last saw this movie on television back in 2000. At least Amazon has lowered the price; when I bought this DVD from them a couple of years back it was $28.95.
But all picture complaining aside, this movie is wonderful and my family loved watching our home-recorded VHS copy every Christmas for years. :)

For anyone who knows anything about Rowan Atkinson and his cronies in comedy, Black Adder is a must have for your collection. By far, the best of the series is Hugh Laurie playing the idiotic Prince George and RA as his conniving butler. My husband loves that his favourite character in the series, Baldrick, appears in all episodes as Blackadder's hapless sidekick.
