My daughter is obsessed with ballet and The Barbie Nutcracker is one of her favorite videos. She can now hear the music on classical radio and identify which part of The Nutcracker it is from. Amazing. I had no idea how good the Barbie videos where. The music is beautiful and they are really wonderful to watch - even for adults. Which is nice when you have to watch them over and over and over..........

My 6 year old daughter really likes this movie, a CGI animated film. At first I didn't pay much attention to it, but my husband and I just finished watching it with her and I realize now what a well-made and entertaining movie it is.
A story-within-a-story, with Barbie narrating to her little sister, Kelly, about a young, honest girl named Rapunzel. Rapunzel is essentially a prisoner to Gogol, who has "cared" for her since she was a baby. However, one day, fate has a hand in allowing Rapunzel to realize that Gogol lied about Rapunzel's parents being dead. She explores the village outside the castle walls where she has been imprisoned and discovers, literally, that there is a whole world of love waiting for her.

These movies not only teach kids some classic stories and classical music, the female characters are actually very strong role models for young girls...unlike many "princess" movies out there. They are fun for old and young, promoting interest in ballet and classical music.

FANTASTIC for fans who have are familiar w/ the series, if not beware and try to "find" them on the internet.
It is in 1:78:1 wide screen format enhanced for 16 x 9 & I had the fortune to watch this on a 135" screen w/ AWESOME audio system while house sitting and was overwhelmed by the whole experience. As of now i still have thru this weekend to view them again and will before i have to leave :o)
CAUTION: The audio in the beginning has much deeper character voices than original ans IS distracting till you get used to it.

Shadow Raiders is a quite pedestrian title for such a ground breaking series. This show began as a simple tie-in for the War Planets toys, but Mainframe Entertainment kicked it up a notch, creating an involved backstory and peopling? the planets with an extensive roster of entities. Mainframe is known for cutting-edge CGI and in-depth story lines as previously shown in ReBoot and Transformers Beast Wars, but this show took both to new levels.
Viewers may have passed on the show when it originally aired, dismissing it as another glorified advertisement for a toy line, and viewers now would hardly be attracted by the lackluster title "Shadow Raiders." But as viewers then and now have discovered, this show is one of the best kept secrets ... Read More:

The one thing I hate most about a tv series is that most of the time the show gets cancelled before you get to have closure. At least with War Planets (the original name of this series... I hate the "new" name) you do finally get that conclusion. Volume 4 of this DVD set is what I consider the season cliffhanger, and is among the best in the series. However this disk gives you the end of the story with all the loose ends tied up.
It's not an incredible finale. As a matter of fact it's somewhat lacking in the same thrills as volume 4 and doesn't feel like a "big" ending. This isn't such a big deal because the story behind it is still solid, the animation is still impressive, and the production is still polished. It might even feel like the production ... Read More:

I'm going to add to this later.
But boy did the Amazon Reviewer get a wrong number.
in the contect of teh time of production Mainframe Entertainment was pushing the envelope.
"long strethces of filler" He's reviewing the Twinkie he's getting a sugar rush from - and is paying more attentionto the twinkie.
Criticizing the voice of one of the characters "sounds like George Sanders as Shere Kahn in Disney's The Jungle Book" - I'm sorry if this film frightened you as a child - complain to Disney.
"while Bob struggles to save the cybercity, only to vanish inexplicably" Been a while since I watched it - but since it was pivotal - Bob was ejected by Megabyte through the Web Creature Portal out of Mainframe. Turn off your earPod ... Read More:
