I was so pleased that this was available on DVD in a boxed set. I grew up looking forward to the yearly airing of Pippi on TV and to own the set is really great! :o)

I remember watching Pippy Longstocking as a young girl and loving it. Now my 4 and 5 year old love her too. It is funny to realize that it is dubbed in English, didn't notice that as a child and my kids haven't noticed it either. My husband and I got a kick out of it the first time we watched it as adults. Doesn't take away from the movie.

Since i know the german TV Series, which is nearly double as long as the movies and has a lot more atmosphere and shows more charactere of the three children, i was happy to find at least part of the series in English. But what a mess! The english dubbing is really bad. The Text was somehow adjusted to a more serious, say boring mode. Pippi is not charming at all in this version. For me a lot of the fun and wits is gone. I think the Englsih Movie Version is good and well dubbed, and the better choice. I hope one day the whole TV Series will be released in English.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my grandson. He loves Pippi but was disappointed with the film. It was confusing to him because the dubbing was not in sync with the movement of the lips of the actors. I think it is difficult for children to understand the language conversion process. It is an enjoyable film but not anything to get real excited about.

Although I am know in my early 30's I still enjoy and have fun
watching this film with my friends and family. It's one of those
films that makes you wish you were a kid all over again.

It's by far one of the best adventures in the Pippi series collection. I highly recommend that everyone take time to enjoy
it and share it with those you love.

Pippy loves buying things for kids, but never buys things for herself. She always says she's "rich as a troll." Pippy is really crazy; she even has a monkey as a pet. I love the books Pippy Goes On Board and Pippy Longstocking because they are full of excitement. I am just like Pippy, because she is always asking questions. I ask questions all of the time. I hope you will love them and read them too.
