I bought this dvd for my father for Fathers Day. He is 82. He loves it and has watched it several times. It takes him back to a special time in his life. I am happy they put this dvd togther. I think I will buy him another dvd in the series.

These are great specials and lovely to watch. I saw them all in an evening marathon but won't forget them anytime soon. I'd seen My Name is Barbra and had the videotape as well as Color Me Barbra. I hadn't seen the rest and had never even heard of The Belle of 14th Street before. They are all good. My preference is for My Name is Barbra and Barbra and Other Musical Instruments but then seeing her in concert in Central Park? Not bad! She's wonderful! Even Belle which many don't like, I found very interesting. I am intrigued by vaudeville. Wonderful set. Buy it and keep it. Comes with a very nice box and booklet too.

While the one with Nancy is my least favorite of Sinatra's mid 60s television specials, it is still worth owning. There will never be another ole blue eyes, and it is always a thrill to look back at the way things were. Even when Sinatra was not at best form, he was still very very good. The best was the one with Ella and Jobim, the last one I believe.

This is Barbra Streisand's second television special. She filmed it in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it is a very nice musical special. Not as many jokes but more music and the singing is great. The confidence is striking and she really knows how to make art.

This is a great show that highlights just how great Barbra Streisand could be. She was arty and creative and used music to light up the drama and the soul. Makes you miss good musical variety shows.

This is a very good special and I suspect that some reviewers here are rating the CD and have never seen the show. Barbra is being experimental with music from different countries, time periods and varieties of American music. It is quite an enjoyable show to watch but I bet it would be very confusing to listen to on CD without ever watching the show or knowing its concepts. Barbra was at the height of her beauty and was very good at doing these specials. From the first one she did in 1965 on, she always experimented and did new things. The Bomb - The Belle of 14th Street didn't even stop her. (Actually, I liked that one too.) A very nice evening watching these shows. Highly recommended.
