This was one of the movies I had to buy years ago after I watched it at a friends house. After ordering Kill Bill 1&2 I decided to revisit this classic. Years later its still an amazing piece of work. Several stories intertwine together to form a masterpiece of circumstances. Every conversation draws you in and entertains you even the pointless ones manage to keep you entertained . The action isn't high but its enough to keep you interested. With an all star cast Its a great movie to own as a Tarentino fan and a must see to new comers.

This is my first Quentine Tarantino film. Editing is ultimate. Wow! What Music! Uma Thurman gives a terrific performance. I knever knew Michael Madsen or Carradine at that time. Both actors were my Dad's-time-guys. But after seeing Kill Bill, I have pin-ups of Madsen in my room. Paps always used to speak of 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Jackie Brown' etc..but they were not 'my-period' films. Even Daryl Hannah! I knew her only as the 'mermaid' from 'Splash'. I saw KILL BILL on the BIG SCREEN and became hooked. Now I do not miss a single film by Tarantino.

I never cease to be touched by this film. The first act always makes me cry, always. The rarity and value of selflessness cannot be understated. It's one of the few films I can call "powerful."

It is, however, a film to be watched after reading the book. By itself, the movie is a trifle off-balance; reviewers are correct when they say that the "teen angst" portion is a bit off-putting. It's also a bit shocking when Jean hits Cosette (twice) -- something I could understand once, perhaps, but not twice.

I like this film but the language and costumes are too distracting to fully enjoy this old-fashioned film.
