Honestly, we bought this hoping it was the magic key that would unlock our household from a life of servitude to night pants.

Well, that didn't work.

The DVD is cute. Bear is kind. But nothing magical resulted from repeat viewings. In fact, our kids quickly grew tired of the DVD after the fifth or sixth viewing, so now it gathers dust and is soon to be a candidate for a garage sale table.

We have a few of the "Bear" DVD's and I think this one is the best. I really like the songs and the subjects. My son also likes this one the best as well. If you want to try out this series or add one to you collection this is the excellent choice.

I happened to buy my first bear DVD about 2 months ago from a 2nd hand store and now I own 4! My 15 month old son doesnt watch any other TV, but gets so excited when we put Bear on.
This "Dance Party" DVD is my favorite so far, and the song the Otters sing in the last episode will have you whistling it all day long.
I highly recommend any of the Bear and Big Blue House DVDs - they have great lessons and are easy to watch for adults, not at all annoying like some of those other kids shows!
Hooray For Bear! I just wish Bear was still on TV!

4 1/2 years ago Bear & his friends (Tutter is my favorite!) came on the Disney Channel and we realized that our baby loved them, so we bought several Bear DVD's. The show doesn't come on TV anymore, but we're still watching the original DVD's & we just purchased more for our 1 year old. Both children have been completely facinated by the characters and we have spent many hours singing along and laughing with Bear and his adorable friends. It's really amazing to see how the baby (and how our big baby used to) calm down if he's fussy when we turn on Bear. We LOVE every DVD we've purchased! They are so entertaining AND educational - even my husband & I enjoy watching them over and over again!!!

Criteria for a children's video:

1. Do kids like it? Yes, my toddler loves this, sings along, and asks me to sing along, too.

2. Can the parents watch it without going bonkers? Yep, so far, so good, every time I see it again I notice new things. The puppets are sophisticated and the characters distinct. The music is fabulous, mostly inspired by modern American folk--how great to hear simple fiddle music and guitar instead of overproduced "showtunes." The simple music also means that if I sing the songs afterward, it sounds close to what my child remembers from the show.

I bought this dvd for my son who is now 2 1/2 but my 1 year LOVES it. After playing this dvd twice, she already knew one song. It's very simple but a great away to enjoy a few minutes just moving. My son is not a moving person so he just sit and enjoy the music. I'm happy with this product.

"Bear in the Big Blue House" is one of the best currently-running shows for kids. I have seen several Bear DVDs (which are now in the possession of my friends who have preschool kids) and I believe that they are not only entertaining and educational, but reinforce such important concepts as fairness and good sportsmanship.

In this volume, Bear and friends concentrate on getting a good night's sleep, and also learn about good dental hygiene and the importance of making new friends while not abandoning existing friends. My favorite character, Tutter, has logistical problems dealing with several varieties of cheese.

BBB is the best, keeps little ones busy for hours and teaches them lots of useful things at the same time. Visiting the Doctor is good because it teaches them not to be affraid of the doctor. A must have with the rest of the Bear collection. Potty time is the best!

This video is really good because it teaches kids that everyone is special even if you are a bat, in the second episode , they find a bat in the attic of the big blue house and everyone is scared of it , but bear says that everyone is different and not to be scared. I liked this one alot, my son loves bear, he has almost all of his videos.
