This is THE DVD to have. It is great to see The Moody Blues play with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The interview bits clue you into just what goes into a production like that. What a great concert to have a record of. There is a companion DVD called "The Other Side Of Red Rocks" that includes the songs not on this DVD. A Legend of the Mind should have made the cut here though! The companion DVD is very hard to find, and usually is not in the US region. It would be wonderful if they would put the two together, so that you can have the full concert! But for now, this is a must have DVD!

It has many of the best-known and best-loved classics that the Moody Blues are famous for, on stage live, just a few years ago -- with the added dimension of a full orchestra! A true delight for both the ears AND the eyes! I bought it as a gift for my husband, but I love it too!

Feeling nostalgic for the glory days of soft rock? "Legend of a Band" is a profile of the Moody Blues that will fit the bill. This was originally a direct-to-video rockumentary released to coincide with the release of the Moody Blues' 25th anniversary and is a companion piece to the greatest hits CD of the same name.

On the positive side are the Moody Blues themselves. All of the four key members of the band are genuinely affable, sincere, friendly, and sensitive sorts who good-naturedly recount their highs and lows without even a trace of egoism. This DVD is quite frustrating: we get short clips from various songs and usually after some ten seconds of (mostly lip-sync) music, we see a talking head commenting about the music, the context, the era. The members of the band do not comment anywhere here. Most of the musical clips gathered here come from the DVD titled LOST PERFORMANCE, which was recorded in Paris in 1970. This one hour DVD is not worth the price, even though we get a few vintage seconds from the song "Blue Guitar" (1975) performed (lip-sync) by Justin Hayward and John Lodge on TV. But again, this rare song is not complete. We also see three early performances of the Moody Blues with Denny Laine (without Hayward and Lodge). The only good item on the DVD was the Nights in White Satin and that is available on the Legend of a Band DVD. I was very disappointed. The cover artwork is very misleading. It makes you think that you will see more of the later Moodies Music.
