Maybe I could have understood the movie better if I wasn't having so much fun watching it! Why are Sam and Dale stuck out in the universe instead of going back to earth? Well, I'd stay out in space if the alternative was the dreary, dust-ridden planet we get a glimpse of at the beginning of the film. The movie picks up steam and color as soon as Dr. Zharkov kidnaps our hero and heroine and whisks them off to save the planet, and especially when they reach the court of the fabulous Ming the Merciless. Well...I haven't finished all of the movies, so maybe this review is a little premature. I have enjoyed what I have watched so far. I am in the process of reading the books first and then watching the movies. Being the book lover that I am, of course I am going to say that the books are much better. I would recommend both.

I am a follower of the novels from Tom Clancy in terms of the action and espionage plots that he develops. This box provides three good approaches to his work although they do not equal the books.
The performance from Sean Connery in "The Hunt for Red October" is definitely superb.
Similarly to these movies, I also recommend "The Sum of All Fears" based on the novel from Tom Clancy.

Hunt For The Red October I have owned for several years and still watch it 3+ times a year. Any Sean Conery fan is treated to a really good movie with many exciting actors. Great drama and good humor as well. K19 is also very good and intersting to see Russian view point. A Winner.

I admit it, they got me! I had already finished my shopping when I looked up on the shelf and saw this. Wow! A new one (to me) by Jamie Foxx and it has Nia Long in it? I love Jamie Foxx. He's a natural talent, someone I feel like I can relate too. Nia? Whatever she's selling, I'm buying. I don't care what it is, cars, clothes, music, just send her my way and she has a customer. But this film was sad. Nia isn't even in half of the movie!!! I must admit I waited for a laugh to come. I even tried forcing one at times, only to realize I was the only one laughing...

I think the other point that sold me on this was that it was less than ten bucks. Thinking back, there were a ton of these on the shelf and I even remember others standing in line snickering ... Read More:

Of course, we have seen all three of these movies before but it had been some time ago. My husband and I are both fans of Harrison Ford and Tom Clancy, plus we love suspense type movies. We thought these were a great value and 3 Terrific films!
