The Good Things
*A few neat, somewhat creepy special effects.
*It's pretty well-filmed.
*Some good lines.
*Some interesting ideas.
*Good usage of the setting.

The Bad Things
*Some parts are totally ridiculous.
*Other parts are just plain weird or convoluted.
*I really couldn't care much for these characters.
*This whole story reminds me too much of "The Shining."

For Stephen King, "Rose Red" is one of the weaker titles in his repertoire. It's mildly entertaining, but mostly because of the absurdity (especially in the characters and dialogue) and quality of photography. But if you're looking for a good serious horror film, this would not be it.

O "Morcego" é uma das operetas mais felizes de todos os tempos. Ainda mais com a tradição de dispor números diferentes, verdadeiros shows, na metade do segundo ato. Esta parte, alíás, vale pela peça toda: cintila de tal forma que, as vezes, empana o brilho do restante da opereta. Mas é uma obra que se deve ter em uma dvdteca, principalmente se você aprecia boa música, alegre e despretenciosa, embora não descartável.

Quanto ao dvd em questão: as vozes são excelentes, as interpretações convincente e, a melhor parte - a despedida dos palcos da maravilhosa "La Sutherland". I am writing this review to counter the bad ones here. This is a great production, both vocally and theatrically. The director's concept is wonderful and the singers are great. I recommend this DVD over any other one of this opera. What a joy.

On the DVD the orchestra is really there. I liked the production, and the cast sang and acted well. Perhaps the sound was remixed for the DVD as I could not understand the negative reviews given this production.

The video show an excellent performance by all the singers who joined Pavarotti. Bryan Adams & Pavarotti made a perfect duet in 'O Sole Mio. As in all "Pavarotti & Friends" videos you will also contribute for the children of the war. Highly recommended.
