To try to compare this compilation of many different versions of Riverdance, with the original show is like trying to compare an apple and an orange. Yes they are both fruits, and you will get some Vitamin C from each, and they taste great, but they are different.

This DVD is not the original show. That version isn't on DVD, so just deal with it. Reading the complaints from the people who didn't like that they saw many performers poping in and out during the course of a single dance, make me wonder if they live in the same world as I do. What did they expect?

Why would they expect the same experience on this DVD as on the other DVD's? If you wanted a DVD that showed you the dances just as you saw them on the Riverdance ... Read More:

I'm a very big Riverdance fan. I have all released video and DVD of the show. I have also attended the show live o 3 seperate occations in GA. Im sad they are taking a break this year. I hope they return to the stage with the show real soon.

Michael Flatley knows how to put on a show. He took the best of Lord of the Dance and made it bigger and better. More dancers, more lights and more special effects makes this a spectacular show to watch. In addition to the best Lord of the Dance routines he adds a flute solo, Whispering Wind, with a lovely, haunting melody and His Feet of Flames solo is breathtaking. If you want something to lift up your spirits this will do it. My husband and I watch it all the time. It's one show you never get tired of seeing. I only wish it had been filmed in high definition.

I am so glad they came out with the Gold, it gives us a chance to go behind the scenes, learn more about the dancers and performers, Michael Flatley, and how it all started. Everything starting with the Chieftains all the way to Feet of Flames Budapest. I really wish they made a DVD of the Budapest show! I was there and it was just unbelieveable, so different, yet so Michael Flatley. The crowd was going crazy. His parents were sitting in the first row. Yeah, there was some butt shaking and a lot of high tech involved but everything after the original Lord of the Dance is going to be like that.
