This movie is absolutely hilarious!! The name alone says it all. Mike Judge is such a genius. This movie could very well turn out to be a true story or a harbinger of things to come. Goofy yet prophetic. Beef Supreme Rulz!!!!!
Release Date July 09, 2002
I get it. It's trying to be a deadpan, quirky movie about a dysfunctional family. It just isn't NEARLY as good as the pretentious people out there would have you believe. Arrested Development does the same thing but with WAY more interesting characters and humour that never misses the mark.

I don't think there is enough space in this review window to do this movie justice! This is the movie that helped launch the careers of such celebrated comedians like Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson and Vince Vaughn! And man do they earn their honors with this movie! I think one of the things that makes this movie so widely loved is that it identifies with college students as well as people in their later 20s and 30s.
There are so much LOL moments in this that you'll barely have time to catch a breath. This is a worthy DVD buy because this movie has LOTS of rewatchability (is that even a real word????). You and your friends will get lots of mileage out of this one. And the nudity doesn't hurt either!

Elle Woods(Reese Witherspoon) is young, blonde, beautiful and the president of Delta Nu Sorority, she has a hunky boyfriend Warner(Matthew Davis) and everything in her life seems pretty perfect.

With the help of her sorority sisters, her dog bruiser and some well timed mani-pedis Elle gets into harvard, but it will take a lot more then just that to get her through difficult classes, snotty teachers, and the biggest obstacle, Warner's ... Read More:

I am a huge fan of `The Royal Tenenbaums', but I couldn't rally behind `Rushmore' the way I thought I would. The acting was superb across the board, and the humor, when it hit, was hilarious; but there was just something about this movie that didn't sit well with me. I found myself wondering where this movie was going; what point it was trying to make. There are many scenes where it feels like this movie doesn't know what kind of movie it wants to be. Is it a comedy, is it a drama, is it an intellectual farce, is it a tearjerker; is it neither? I found the contemplation of the films intent to be tiresome and draining and thus I found my feelings for the film in general to be rather indifferent.
I wanted to like this movie, but I didn't.

Ten minutes into the movie "the Family Stone" I was regretting my choice of the movie. Predictable to the extreme it seemed to have echoes in myriad family movies of recent years : Dan in Real life, The Wedding date and what have you. The family itself was not terribly likeable, the heroine was irritatingly self concious and the hero wasn't doing much to charm the audience.
BUT to enjoy this mtovie you need to be patient. This is NOT a romance! The fact that it starts out with SJ Parker visiting Mulroney's family over the holidays has little to do with their romance and whole lot to do with the undercurrets of family secrets and relationships. the characters do find love by the end and loss as well. Diane Keaton is wonderful as usual. The problem, I felt, was that ... Read More:
Taking a trip into Wes Anderson's head is like going into a parallel universe where most things are the same, but the nature of reality is just slightly warped.
And while the world of "Bottle Rocket" -- Anderson's first collaboration with actor Owen Wilson -- is a little rough around the edges, the absurdist crime caper is a jewel. And while it sounds like yet another goofy comedy, Anderson's signature quirkiness is already in place -- a heavy dose of his dry, erratic, clever wit and some lovable misfit characters.
After being treated for exhaustion ("You haven't worked a day in your life. How could you be exhausted?"), Anthony (Luke Wilson) has just been released from a voluntary mental hospital.
His "rescuer" is his idealistically weird pal Dignan ... Read More:

I don't feel like talk about this movie so I agree with what Steven Hedge "Movie Fan" said:
For those that say "this kept me on the edge of my seat" I have to say that I agree. I was on the edge of my seat to leave within 10 minutes of this film beginning. I've seen more intelligent writing on the back of a milk carton. Check into this motel and leave your brains elsewhere.
I want to like these kinds of movies, as they are a unique genre and a throwback to a bygone era. Aside from the gore and porn elements, which I never find all that appealing, the basics of this film pay homage to that class of films about run-down motels and stalker killers. We've seen all this before and done remarkably better. This film is a disappointment from the get go.
Release Date August 15, 2006
This film is truly family friendly and fun to watch from beginning to end. Not filled with the typical Hollywood schlock which makes it better than any alleged blockbuster. Perfect for tweens but, to be honest, it is probably TOO intelligent for most adults. It goes to show what a little inspiration and a positive outlook can accomplish. It is good to see that not all idealism is dead in this world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
