Well shot, well edited, and paced quickly enough that you don't get bored, but slowly enough that important topics are covered in depth. Where else are you going to find an instructional documentary that takes you inside growrooms? For a younger generation, (accustomed to learning visually) this DVD is an invaluable resource. Of course, if you're a serious student, read the book, but the DVDs are a great place for the novice to start.

jorge seems to have more fun making part two.but part one is more informative by far.still fun to watch.there are repeats from the first dvd.so If you are a beginner looking to learn buy the first one.

Much like 'Quinceanera' before it, `How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer' is a deliberate movie with a gentle heart. The movie zeroes in on three generations of Hispanic women in the titled family whose ambivalence about men finds them grappling for much needed tenderness in their lives.

Lolita Garcia (Elizabeth Pena) faces her fortieth birthday. She works at a neighborhood delicatessen where fellow worker, Jose Luis's (Rick Majera) lecherous interest has her as jaundiced about men as her ex-husband. Image really dropped the ball here. Although clearly aimed at the Spanish-language market, other similar DVDs include English subtitles for the benefit of us gringos who are Mexican horror fans. This DVD is in Spanish only, so if you don't know the language, you may wish to avoid this one...on the other hand, it is a rare title that many fans have heard about for years, but never got a chance to see, which is why I took the chance and bought it...in any case, be forewarned.

There is almost nothing in this Spanish melodrama to lighten the mood. Even the weather doesn't cooperate - in all the outdoor scenes it's either raining heavily or the characters are dodging mud puddles from a recent storm.
